Yeah there's a bit more to it than that here, Einstein.

Just like with any contagious sickness, people that are sick should stay home and away from other people, I have never argued that they shouldn't. BUT there is no reason for a person to be segregated from society if they are not sick.

With Hansen’s disease (leprosy) people thought it was highly contagious but in the end it turned out they were wrong. We now know that it is only slightly contagious and easily treatable, people were overreacting in the past just like they are overreacting today about COVID that is also easily treatable using readily available therapeutics.

    END

Great Britain is an island in the North Atlantic Ocean off the northwest coast of continental Europe.

North America, including the United States, Mexico and Canada, to name a few, is a continent.

A continent has a craton in it. It's a core of silcon-aluminum granite. It floats above the silicon-magnesium (basalt) mantle. Islands are somewhat temporary things, geologically and are likely to subduct back into the mantle.

I went to a local bar last night and my seat happened to be where I could see out the windows and down the street. I watched a small group of 8 people walk down the street toward the bar wearing masks the entire time. When they came inside they sat down ordered drinks and would pull their mask down to take a sip then put it back on every time. After about 20 minutes 6 of them went outside to smoke and were still pulling their mask up and down to take a drag. Obviously they were all incredibly concerned about their health. [IMG]

Wouldn't want them to catch the COVID!

I’ve seen a couple people wearing nothing short of space helmets in airports. One guy went on to take his off in a terminal-side restaurant. It’s as if the food service industry is a “covid free zone” for customers.

I know a guy that has one of these. It has a battery pack to keep the cooling fan going while worn.

IIRC for a while there in Victoria you had to periodically post a selfie onto a mandatory quarantine app you downloaded that tracked your location, failure to do so w/in 5 min of your sms order to comply would reap a prompt visit from the po-po. Not sure if that's still a thing.

Like I said.. this was a VICTORIA-specific thing. But I get it, at this point you’re just going to hurl spitballs at the wall to see what sticks upon every turn in your ongoing creepy campaign to prove me wrong.

Google it for yourself. I already have.

You may be missing the subtler point. They're very useful and it's not mandatory to download any of the apps. :)

No I haven’t missed the point. Like I said… I’ve already run it down. And I never said it was still up and running.

As far as “useful” goes… that will have to be about the 100th thing we disagree about.

    I’m cool with that.

As well as cross-posting you also have a habit of replying to posts as if they were directed to you when they clearly weren't. I never said you missed a point. That was a reply to Traveller.

You have previously insisted that I provide my source to avoid my data being deemed "bullshit", which I did, so perhaps you'll do the same.

COVID-19 Outbreak Among Fully Vaccinated Cruise Crew Ends New Year’s Trip in Portugal

    https://www.theepochtimes.com/covid...-ends-new-years-trip-in-portugal_4189242.html

A cruise ship is stuck in Lisbon, Portugal, amid a COVID-19 outbreak among fully vaccinated crew members, officials said Sunday.
The AIDAnova, with 2,844 passengers and 1,353 crew onboard, docked in Portugal on Dec. 29 while en route to Madera for New Year’s celebrations, officials said. But the ship was unable to continue pressing forward after 52 COVID-19 cases were detected among the fully vaccinated staff, authorities said.
The company told German news agency Deutsche Presse-Agentur, or DPA, that all passengers aged 12 and older are fully vaccinated and have to take an antigen and a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test before departing.
“The company’s protocol was immediately actioned, with those infected, who are asymptomatic or displaying light symptoms, immediately isolated on the ship … and the company decided to end the cruise and disembark the passengers,” Lisbon port official Diogo Vieira Branco was quoted by Reuters as saying.
AIDA Cruises, the German operator of the ship, couldn’t be reached for comment on Sunday. AIDA Cruises told DPA that it was trying to find new crew members.
It’s not clear when the AIDAnova would depart to the Canary Islands or when the fresh cruise staff will arrive.
Everyone on board had passed a COVID-19 screening test and were vaccinated with two doses before the ship sailed out of Germany, officials told The Associated Press. They told the AP that no passengers on board the vessel tested positive for the virus.
Reuters footage showed passengers still enjoying the afternoon sun on decks with their drinks, and local media said the disembarking would begin after 6 a.m. on Monday. The crew who had tested positive between Wednesday and Friday were transferred to Lisbon hotels and were in isolation there.
On Thursday, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advised people to avoid traveling on cruise ships regardless of their vaccination status.
“Avoid cruise travel, regardless of vaccination status,” the CDC alert says. “Even fully vaccinated travelers may be at risk for getting and spreading COVID-19 variants … the virus that causes COVID-19 spreads easily between people in close quarters on board ships, and the chance of getting COVID-19 on cruise ships is very high, even if you are fully vaccinated and have received a COVID-19 vaccine booster dose.”
It came after several cruise ships, including ones operated by Royal Caribbean and Carnival, were forced to divert their trips due to COVID-19 outbreaks. The cruise lines require all staff and guests who are eligible for vaccines to show proof of vaccination before entering.
The CDC, meanwhile, is monitoring dozens of cruise ships after COVID-19 cases were detected on board in recent days.
COVID-19 is the illness caused by the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus.

I understand the usefulness and understand the how apps work but also know enough about them to know I don't want one.
