The authorities need to start coming down on the anti-vaxers and those who flatly REFUSE a vaccine for no valid medical reason IMO. I'm sick to death of hearing about "infringement of civil liberties" and the "right to choose" crap. Where would we be if people had refused Polio, TB, Smallpox etc vaccines en-mass? The difference between the Covid 19 and past pandemics is the f*****g media explosion! Stop the unjabbed going here and doing that etc and let the vaccinated go about their business. In wartime many personal freedoms are curtailed and this is a war, with an unseen enemy.

No witch hunt intended, only seeking clarity. If you don’t want to respond that is fine.

If the vaccine works why does it matter if other people get it?

If the vaccine doesn't protect me then why should I get it?

Uh-oh. You know the rules. As soon as you mention Hitler you automatically lose the argument.

I’ve been called many things as well. Not all of those were true, either.

I have been trying to get it but apparently my immune system works. I've been around several people that tested positive, some with symptoms, and I still can't pick it up. I don't mask and don't avoid people at all. I figure natural immunity would be a good thing for the future.

I think he was invoking Godwin's Law, so no, Mussolini or Stalin don't work :)

It’s been known from and not really hidden from start the vaccine won’t stop you getting covid or passing it on,it will just make your symptoms less severe and more than likely stop you needing hospital treatment and SAVE the nhs, there’s no right or wrong but I just thought if you are double or triple or whatever the hell jabbed why do you still have to isolate the same as somebody with NO jabs, the omicron in particular seems to be the least harmful variant, the huge over reaction is just crazy many thousands of nhs staff and others are self isolating huge staff shortages are causing massive damage.

I admit that I had to look up what Godwin's Law is. Interesting topic, thanks for the insight.

I'd go along with much of what @chuk has said. I'm staying at my son's in London. He's a doctor here, and has told me point blank that omicron is so contagious that l'm going to get it, so may as well face up to it. As has been mentioned, the virus seems less harmful, appears to be "learning" that killing the host is not necessarily the best move, and it is to be hoped that it is becoming more on par with the common cold. Actually, the reason l'm posting on here at this ungodly hour is because l have a tickly throat and am sneezing a fair bit.....hopefully l'm allergic to this godawful scented candle they have in the lounge as l am at the wrong end of the hay fever spectrum. Time will tell, fingers crossed and all that. Still, at least the Packers continue to hold the #1 seed in the NFC :)

No, that's not correct. It looks like after 10 weeks the efficacy is reduced by up to 25%, that's all. That said, learning to live with it - whilst reducing risk in a sensible and manageable way - is probably the way forward.

To my mind that can only mean vaccines and ongoing/periodic boosters, as well as being responsive to fluctuating risk profiles (i.e. being prepared to increase measures when science indicates that its necessary to do so).

if someone who has avoided having the vaccine requires hospital treatment for Covid they should be made to pay or stay at home.

How do you tell if someone hasn't had the jab or is a vegan or has run a marathon or is a tri-athlete or owns a E car ?
Don't worry they will soon tell you and bore the pants off you.:zzz::zzz:
