+1 or more on Griff, he sounds like a straight shooter. Air box design is a very black art that extremely few can even start to comprehend, let alone improve, it all boils down to the near supersonic intake air mass/charge bouncing back up the intake manifold into the box as the intake valves slam shut. "First on the agenda was the suspension set up, basically long story short, front forks are a bit tired saggy & in need of service & re-spring, rear shock seems under sprung also, so Griff’s advice was not to waste money on him setting up, rather spend toward service & springs at an Ohlin’s specialist. Most places would have carried on & done a ‘best they could get it’ set up, but Griff is so genuine he just said it would be a waste of time & money." Again good advice from Griff! Colin Chapman is spot on with "it's better to be faster everywhere, than down the straights" I will be genuine here also, old racing saying "if you want to run mean, you gotta run lean" goes for fuel mixture, and everything else. You can do it Billy!
Good lord isn't the UK only about 700-800 miles from North to South. So just A long days drive. https://www.google.com/search?q=uk+...7751050&biw=360&bih=559#imgrc=yAt2w8BJ5WOa4M:
can only agree wi what Billy, and a few others, said about Griff. When I had my 2 Aprilias, he was allus happy to help over t'phone. What he dunt know about bikes, especially Aprilias, int worth knowing.
BBR should do quite well with his new kick ass bike this season. Unless his leathers exhibit a wiff of wee. I know mine would, if I tried to fully exploit the potential of my street triple in The first year. But that's just part of racing. Rock on Bad Billy!
The bodywork is looking good Bill, guessing you won't fit a set onto the bike until you've had the other work done, fingers crossed all will be well and you'll be hurtling around the tracks of Great Britain this season
There's a guy on the trading estate opposite who me does sign writing, vehicle wraps etc, I could ask if he could make you some up if you like Bill. Have a great week in the canaries mate
These guys do a lot of Aprilia decals and will produce what you want if you speak to them Edit: Even if you can't see it on the site
It sounds like you had a terrific week, @Bad Billy! Glad you got to enjoy some beautiful weather. And how smart of you to "unplug". Good for you. So no worries on no photos. I won't even drag out the forum party line -- "no photos, it didn't happen!" Well, I guess I just did.
If my stator goes, thinking already to have to take a holiday, to take the bike to him to get it sorted properly
