The CX 500 was staring at me from under the car port challenging me to finish connecting the carbs, tank, mudguards, rear light, battery etc.
I've now covered it up. :joy::joy:

I've taken a perfectly good bike and removed a lot of unnecessary weight from it :D

So far: valve adjustment, throttle body clean and adjust, air intake clean, cooling system complete clean and flush, full oil inspect and clean, power system inspection and check.

To do: chain and sprockets, front fork springs, oil and head bearings, rear swing arm bearings, wheel bearings, new mapping and Trident StubbyGP.
Build a decent workshop and heat it before temps go down to minus 25C

    Not quite, It's a 2107 ZX10R I'm turning into a trackday bike.
I'm stripping out all the clean air gubbins, catalyser and safety aids, ABS etc etc.
It's surprising how much of it you can take off and have the bike roadworthy still (even if not road legal)...
I have a whole box of bits so far.

Doing a trackday again and planning to do more in 2021, means I plan to give my leathers some care.

On the bike just sort throttle and clutch cables and put it all back together again.

At least first job can be done in the warm - and it smells divine!

Give the Gliptone a try - if you haven't already! If you like the smell of "new" leather, you'll love it. And it does work - keeps the leather soft and supple and adds some waterproofing. Worth a try of the small bottle.

I use some McGuires Leather balm I bought for the leather seats in the car and swear by it now. Other, Winter, bikey type jobs are fork oil change on the Z, get the zip repaired on my old Lewis Leathers Jacket and give my helmet a good seeing to. Poke all the dead flies out of the airways, touch up a few chips/scratches and sanitise the lining. Still fancying a new one for next year though.

I assume you mean "MEGUIARS"? If so, it's the American company that makes all the car treatment products?

My American friend introduced me to their products in 1988 - one of which was the leather treatment, which he swore by. Then I introduced him to the Gliptone Liquid Leather conditioner. I now send him restock supplies of the Gliptone and, though he uses Meguiars car treatments, he no longe r buys their leather treatment .... unless I'm a bit slow sending out the Gliptone!

Each to their own, of course, and your mileage may vary, but nothing I've yet tried as an alternative has been anything like as good as the Liquid Leather.

    Edited : MEGUIARS!

Let it "go natural". It attracts more birds and bees.

I've got the oil and filter to do on my 78 Honda 400/4. Also I'll to strip the front brake caliper again on my annual battle to stop it squealing....which i'll lose....again! :joy:
Also i'm getting some motone bits and bobs for the bobber tomorrow so that should keep me out of trouble for a few weeks.
