I totally agree, there are some serious crashes resulting from wildlife, I'm glad you were not seriously injured, a guy was killed near Melling a few years back when a pheasant hit him whilst riding his BMW and he tragically lost his life. Nick Crowe and Mark Cox as passenger were racing the sidecar outfit at the TT in 2009, a hare ran into the outfit and both were flung from it, it was horrendous, sadly Nick lost limbs after many operations. Deer cause many accidents and their numbers have risen dramatically in recent years, an increase around 80,000 in Scotland alone. Keep vigilant as pegscraper says from his personal experience, I was hit by a pigeon thankfully it only grazed my shoulder but at 60 mph bike and roughly 20 mph bird it hurt I can tell you. Stay safe all

LOL I used to shoot competitively back in the day, I have a rack full of air rifles sitting there not really being used.

Including a Theoben Olympus gas ram rifle.... built when Theoben were building rifles up to a quality instead of down to a price. It twitches like a bitch on heat when the sear trips, but so long as you have a loose enough grip that it can do its thing, the ram is so fast that the pellet is well on its way to the target before you can mess up the shot by reacting.

To the OP, I would suggest airgunbbs.com as a site for finding a buyer. I have two BSA ultras - one single shot witt the MMC mechanism and a regulator and one magazine fed one that John Bowkett fettled for me. Great little rifles.

I remember doing quick stripdowns and rebuilds of Daystates in fields and car parks where people had managed to drop pellets backwards into the mechanisms literally 10 minutes before they were due to start a comp. Tony Belas had my Dayate Mk3 in the back of his car one time - and I didn’t have time to check zero it before a round of the UKHFT events - so I picked up my Falcon and shot the round with that instead. Tony was kicking himself after because I scored the first ever clear 60/60 round at a UKAHFT Event (Quarry rifles, back in 2004) - but not with my Daystate! 60ex60 has been done lots of times since, but I was the first!

These days it’s good enough for me too.

Back in the day when the targets were armed and trying to kill you there was slightly more pressure and not so much time to get the perfect shot in.

Still, there is a range a couple of miles from the house out in Malta, where Mrs Gf8 can shoot AKs and I can keep in touch with my inner Glock or .45ACP race gun.....
