    Delivery arrived from Harley accessories place, a Saddlemen R850 roll bag. I resisted the temptation to go for the version in fake leather with studs ;)

    Access at home for bike is restricted so I can’t leave panniers on bike and it’s a right faff fitting and removing them, so wanted something I can leave on bike to carry essentials for day trips. (Coffee, packed lunch, lock, tools…)

    That looks great, @brown mouse! Could you post a couple more photos of your new bag? I might have to take a look at getting one of those. Very nice......

    I got one of these Nelson-Rigg half covers to use on my Street Glide Special when we do our summer road trips. It's mostly to protect my seat (well, the seat of my bike for those of you literalists) and the inner fairing from both rain and intense sun. I just received my cover yesterday evening and haven't even taken it out of the box yet so this photo isn't of my bike. I'll give it a try this weekend.

    There's a product video on YouTube.

    One end is a zipped closure, and both sides have a pair of plastic quick release clips hidden under some elastic. The bag comes with two different straps with clips.

    1.jpg

    The bottom has rings for fixing too...

    2.jpg

    And one side has two pairs of loops which I've put an old narrow strap I had through so I can attach it to the backrest...

    3.jpg

    Whilst the bag keeps it shape it's not especially rigid, so pulling straps tight will deform it a bit, As I plan on putting some quite heavy things in I'm making a flat extension to my luggage rack to support it along it's whole length.

    This red beauty arrived yesterday evening.....my Street Triple is scowling at it, not sure it wants to grant the interloper access to the garage :p.

    @Mrs Visor

    Congratulations, Mrs. Visor! That is so exciting. :grinning: I’m sure you are giddy with delight. Can’t wait to hear more about it as you begin riding it. Looking forward to some reports and photos! Nothing like a new bike to make you feel like a little kid again.:D Be sure to give your Street Triple some extra attention and love, though. ;) :heart:

    Thank you; don't worry about my Street Triple, it's as loved as ever :);). The weather is due to get a few degrees warmer this week so hope to ride it very soon; it has been a bit icy out there over the last few days to dare!

    I wanted to try a different kind of motorcycle boots, so last Friday I bought the following boots from Alpinestars.

    signal-2023-01-26-20-06-03-493.jpg

    But the joy was short, because I tested them at home then on my bikes and had to realize that I can not switch my gears with such boots properly neither on my T120 nor my NT-1100.
    Therefore, on Monday back to the store and exchange. Now I got Goretex boots from BMW. Model: Cruise Comfort.

    By the way, I also got a little money back, because the second pair was cheaper.

    $16 lotto ticket today. With the $8,000,000 they give me tomorrow, the Speed Triple goes to an electronics whizz, buy new batteries for the others, probably with tenders for each, a few tyres ... and if any is left, offer son a little more for his Bonnie Black ! :cool:

    I just bought an alternative bike for the actual weather situation. Icy, snow, storm, rain and sometimes a few minutes of sun at temperatures of -13 to 1 degrees celsius.;)

    New tires are such a treat! An expensive treat, but a treat nonetheless. Enjoy them, @Glenn2926! :)

    Great addition to the "bike" stable, @Markus! But I think the best kind of bike for most of those weather situations that you named is one that's in the garage. :eek::joy:

    @Sandi T: That's true Sandi!;)
    Next week the temperatures will reach a rideable niveau. No ice and up to 6-8 degree celsius in the afternoon. :)

    Sleekyglide Clutch cable from wemoto online. Ordered using their search for my bike fitment (1997 T509 Speed Triple), it arrived on Saturday and when I went to fit it, I found it was approx 5 inches too long. Called wemoto and spoke to customer services who agreed that it was their error and they would send the correct cable out on return of the wrong part. It should arrive tomorrow and hopefully will be a good fit this time. Must say tho, great service from wemoto, no quibbles about the original wrapping being damaged by opening as their site was wrong, and first class postage too. Fingers crossed.

    Good ol' 885 ... my first Hinckley. Clocked almost 140 mph one day before the road got a bit short in a hurry ! Was nice getting back to normal when brain caught up with reality .. phew :relieved:, it certainly gives huge appreciation to the blokes racing at 180/200 odd mph. And, thanks for the report on Wemoto, good to know. ( P/S .... may have got the factory rated 145mph if I hadn't forgot these things have six gears !!!!!!! :blush: haha
