Belated - but no less warm - birthday greetings @Sandi T. I can see that you had a great day and evening so all's good .... despite being a year older going into Christmas!! Have a cracker!
Thanks for the birthday wishes, Russell! Yes, I've been to Lil Abner's but not in years. In fact it's closed now. Mr. Sandi was good friends with the owners but they seem to have dropped out of sight. It was a fun place and the building still stands but is now empty.
Long time ago, each Christmas I used to post a birthday card to our own house wishing Jesus a Happy Birthday Anniversary. The kids thought I was mad. PS. Went into a card shop once and asked the assistant, as they had cards for Mums, Dads and anyone else you could think of, did they have a Birthday card for Jesus? Young girl looked blank and asked ‘Why, is it is Birthday’.
Relaxing in the backyard at sunset with a Boulevardier and a handful of mesquite smoked almonds. The simple pleasures in life...
@Russell Stroup Russell, I rode by Lil Abner's this afternoon and saw that there's something being done to it but couldn't tell what and didn't stop to look. Perhaps I'll ride back over there this week to check it out. I just did an initial Google search to see what I could find out about the steakhouse and found this info. My hubby has known the most recent owner, David Hoffman, and his wife, Molly, and their kids for many years but has been out of touch with them for awhile now. Like David, I do hope that someone buys the place and keeps it going as an east side steakhouse. https://tucson.com/entertainment/di...cle_4f8ec20f-feda-55c7-b61d-c319c72172e6.html
Hey, Someone gave us a M&S Christmas Hamper as a prezzie. It had some French Brie in and it is completely (Really!) tasteless! Ken. PS. The Hamper is a great idea for a present. PPS. Didn’t mean all (Have had it before)Brie is tasteless, just this in our hamper. More taste in a Kraft Triangle!
Thanks @Sandi T., Mrs Dartplayer enjoyed her crispy skin Salmon on a bed of green beans accompanied by fresh corn on the cob and kumara (sweet potato) salad. As she does most of the cooking at home, she enjoys my fare while on holiday. I had slow cooked merino lamb spareribs the Rose is light, fruity and very easy to drink
