Around a 100 mile trip through the lanes this evening with my x2 sons, one on a 50cc scooter and the other on a 125 Honda.
It made a pleasant change just bimbling along with the odd entertainment thrown in, never known 40 mph being so hard fought for :joy:

I know a road that has some fun bumps in.
No pics fortunately/unfortunately of my wild attempt that resulted in a fast, proper crossed up, nose dive :eyes:o_O:confounded::skull:

    Here's scooter boy.

    And the 125 Evel Kernievel

After a few goes, including watching what must've certainly been a local woman, in a pickup truck  proper air, four wheels off on both jumps, sorry, bumps  Respect..

It was at this point my wisdom suggested we stopped whilst winning  and go find food.

    My South African Tiger:
I installed a Givi topbox, exchanged the broken aft turning lights and installed new clutch and brake levers after I also broke my clutch lever.
In addition I changwd the shitty handlebar guards to Barkbusters.
    It‘s getting somewhere!

So life is conspiring to keep me so busy I rarely get to ride my gorgeous yellow steed (five years old and only just over 500 miles on the clock).

Anyway the cat was away for my day off today so my mate Colin and I went for a lovely ride out to Sleap (pronounced Slape) Airfield today, a little cooler and damper at times than Apple's weather app was predicting but overall a great weather for riding.

Brunch in the café in the control tower; I had Eggs Royale:yum washed down by a Mocha, while Colin's had Full English washed down with Tea, all while watching the aircraft come and go.

    IMG_3927.jpg

Afterwards mooched around the "museum" buildings that never seem to be open when we're there:rolleyes:, so we peered through the windows at the exhibits. Then home via RAF Shawbury, then Market Drayton then back to home in the Northwich area.

Very little traffic on our routes; most of the roads we had to ourselves which is always good when you're sweeping through our great British countryside:cool:. I also realised while riding today, that I'm finally at that point where despite the long gaps between rides, my riding skills haven't receded since the last ride and I'm just getting more confident and smoother in my bike control:).

All told a brilliant day. Just goes to show, when you get a chance to ride, take it!

    Enjoy your rides folks!

With just 13k miles on the clock the front Brembo discs were starting to warp enough to feel it coming to a standstill. Pretty poor show really for a bike thats done no track days and lives a pretty cosseted life. The calipers have been regularly cleaned and only Brembo pads used.

Replacement Brembo's were over the £500 mark which I thought was ridiculous given how poor the first ones did, so those were scrubbed off the list. If you wanted the racing upgraded version, which are 1mm thicker, then you're looking at over £700 for discs and pads o_O

EBC discs and pads (HH variety) are a well known name and were a far more sensible price coming in about £350.

Hmmm, that's a Speed Triple, isn't it, @Eldon? What year? Mine has a bit over 10K on the odometer and is a 2019. Hoping I don't have the same deal happen.

As mentioned before I finally got my new tekkies on: Pirelli Scorpion STR Rally.
As you can see, the bike sees a lot of dirt - literally on any ride I do as I have to go through a few km of dirtroad before hitting tar road).
I hope the tires will handle better and more secure on sandy roads but am quite positive that they will.

Had a nice little ride to OnYerBike in Bicester. Saw a really nice oldish bobbed Harley, done very nicely, nothing superflous, little bit ratty maybe, if I had a Harley this is what I'd want. Best bit was the number plate FAT CNT.

Renewed the chain and sprockets. Plus, I am now the owner of a 36mm socket. Aired up the tires and adjusted the setting on the rear shock. The Showa rear shock is a nice piece.

Showa is good kit and widely used by Honda as many will know. It's an old company and been around as long or longer than many bike brands.

The shock on the Sprint ST is more capable than the one fitted to my 2000 VFR800. Plus 1 for Triumph.

General going over the Bonnie for the once a month old time speedway lads (and friends) ride tomorrow, 20 odd at the last one, mainly ex solo boys .. a few whom had raced in England, but we should have the sidecar lot up to 4 or 5 this time.
Still a great bunch, with the same humour, and neat to bump into some that's been many years no see, so hopefully the crap weather is gone and a casual 100/200 ? miles, with a sandwhich and coupla beers somewhere ... mmmmm !

Had our country ride .. or I should say, I did ! Was a little late, but knew basically where they were going, so away I went .. coupla hours later scratched head and headed home ? Rang mate to be told .. " Uh sorry, next week " o_O !
Next week was good, nice ride with good blokes.. and on Sunday did the 6th memorial ride for our good friend, (and parts man) who unfortunately didn't beat the big C :broken_heart: Nice to have a large turnout of those who held him in esteem, and also don't see much of each other these days ... and excellent spring weather !

Made my way to the garage this morning. Fired up the ST and observed the check engine had extinguished. Just like the shop manual said it would by George! Next up is the fuel g
