Your new ride is looking good, @Pegscraper! Glad you’re getting some good weather and miles on the bike. What is your first service interval mileage on that bike? I just did the first service on my new Street Glide due at 1,000.

Thanks for sharing your initial thoughts on the bike. Please keep us posted as you continue to ride it more and more. Enjoy!! :):sun:

The first service is 600 but the service is 3 weeks away as the dealer is very busy so I may go over that but it's no problem.

Yes, now I remember that's what the first service was for my Speed Triple, too. I went over by about 100 miles for my Street Glide but have gotten a lot less OCD about being right on the money for the dealer service intervals. I do have one riding buddy who is VERY particular about his service mileage. He'll even ride around to get the mileage nearly spot on before bringing it in or forgo a Sunday ride to avoid going over!:joy:

Managed to fit the air horn in the same place as it was mounted on the street scrambler although space was a bit more limited so new brackets had to be made up. I mounted the horn unit on the RHS a few days ago, it's around 12mm from the exhaust header but is far enough away for heat not to be a problem. The 1200 scrambler is no lightweight at @230kg but there's not a lot of free space on these bikes. What with ABS, electronic rider aids, ECU's, all the emissions kit and sensors everywhere, the wiring loom is huge and way more complex than in days of old.

Went out for a ride yesterday, around 100 miles, on the freshly rebuilt (x3 time don't ask) forks. Took the wife for FnC at Stamford Bridge as they are very nice from there.
Then through the lanes around Leavening and onto Seaways for coffee.
A lot of the small lanes are really muddy and the riders of a StreetTwin aren't the most protected in terms of road spray, especially with no rear mudguard.
The new Motone front mudguard worked as well?? as the old one so no issue there.

    Here's a few pics.

Original plastic mudguard now replaced with aluminium Motone one after my youngest snapped it off

Carried out annual service on my 1050 Speed Triple RS including oil and filter change. Checked that everything was in order ready for MOT in next couple of weeks. Good job I did as the horn refused to honk but managed to coax it back to life by fiddling with that little tone adjuster screw.

The cows are on the top road from Settle to Airton in Malhamdale. There’s always a small herd of them up there.
Just in case anyone is wondering, I did not go into Lancashire, Just looked over the border. So need for decontamination .:grinning::grinning::grinning:.

A run out in some very windy conditions today and a quick stop on Tideswell Moor, around 1400ft ASL, for urgent release of some bodily fluids. Not sure what the wind speed was up there but it was blowing left to right and very close to blowing the bike off it's stand.

Trying endlessly to figure out why my bike has developed random misfires. I've been reading threads and tested my pickup coil / crank position sensor today, reading 196ohms cold and 260ohms warm after a 20 mins ride. I'm not sure if this would count as out of spec, does anyone have any advice?

I have previously removed air box, O2, ai, shorty silencers and ttp map. Coil, leads, caps and plugs have also been changed.

    Thanks in advance.

I came up out of Littondale toward Settle then left Settle via the moor road to Airton. That’s where the cows are.

Engine bars back from powder coaters and duly fitted. A much better look than the OEM bright silver finish I think.

just got back from a 70 mile blast on the 955 daytona. i have this bike for 13yrs and it still puts a massive smile on my face everytime i go for a decent run. it has real useable power and handles like it is on rails.
i cannot see a time when i will ant to sell it :)

I'm trying a fly screen on the Scrambler. I'm not a big fan of bolt on screens/fairings but the standard bike just looks a bit awkward and unfinished around the instrument binnacle/headlight area IMO. The Triumph fly screen is £190 plus £32 for the "fitting kit"! Holy smokes!
Found this one which looks almost identical for £17.99 on Ebay and bolted straight on. My jury is still out but I'll try it for a while. If I decide against it at least I've only lost £18, not £200 plus.

Looks great, when I owned a cb650r I fitted a similar part,, looked as good as the honda part and saved a bundle, even the honda dealer couldn't tell the difference.

Reasonably warm sunny day so ventured out for a 100+ miles ride stopping at Cromer then along the coast to Hunstanton. Also booked it for an MOT on Saturday.

A mate is after one of these Ducatis, not a bad example I must say and looks the part, but the seat instantly felt hard.
