In preparation of March, our settled weather month, I did my 30k mile/50km service o_O
All wheel bearings, brake pads, fluids and filters. Saved a bundle doing it myself
I also had to replace the damaged ABS sensor from the original collapsed rear bearing. Expensive lesson to always remove sensors when working on wheels

Recently changed the spark plugs for some NGK iridiums. Flushed the coolant, balanced the throttle bodies, drained the oil and removed the filter which was a royal pain in the arse to get off i might add!! Also adjusted the rear shock as it was too soft, now feels more planted and less skittish.

Went for a ride out today and had to stop for a warm drink at Bowness as it was a tad cold, started from home, then to Hawes and on to the lakes and back.

Only had the fork kit on the shelf for a few months :rolleyes:
So now finding time, before the good weather, to get it installed. My CP air impact gun has never previously failed to undo the bottom bolts but not these two :confounded:
Anyone know what the internal locking tool business end looks like?

I used to carve a taper on the end of a wooden broom shank and insert it through the fork leg then wedge it into the top of the damper tube to stop it turning so that an assistant could undo the bolt. This may not be possible now, depending on what your existing fork internals are like in which case you need a special tool which I think has a castellated end which fits over the damper rod and holds the end of the damper tube?

Yes I've made a few special tools for various models in the past, one was a 24mm hexagon/nut on the end of a 600 mm rod, but I'm unsure what this one looks like.
I'm convinced Loctite is the issue, but there's no access to apply heat so I need to lock it from above.

A broomstick may be the answer, at least to get one out, thanks.

Managed with a friends assistance to get the new LED indicators working.I had extended the wires on the front pair because they were new but for the rear with short wires, after some frustrating hours trying to work out why they would not work we discovered my splicing was poor.Well Paul soldered the wires correctly and bingo, all good. They are the 60mm Triumph LEDs,I like the effect they have when not on they look like small spot lights, when on they should be difficult to miss.

I've just fitted these onto the new bike after taking them off the SS, Cree LED's from Ebay and they are BRIGHT! :grinning: They'll be wired into the main beam via a small relay but not connected them up yet, that's a tank off job for tomorrow along with fitting the chain oiler and the Denali horn. The front mudguard extender is on and the ACF50/Corrosion Block treatment done so ready for some miles.
