And a few more. Weather was glorious until we'd been there 20 minutes, then it hammered it down. An hour later, now damp and some had left, it was too hot for jackets and back to a good day.... bizarre. Quite a well attended event with a good variety of bikes to see.
Recently purchased a 2020 Speed Twin and have started to fiddle with it, putting a few accessories onto it, nothing major, so it's not like I've crashed into Halfords shop window. Optimate charging lead Triumph Black rear bobbins Replacing the chrome yoke nut with the Thruxton one Fitting the TEC long clutch and brake levers Fitting the Arton Works clock dials I have will do an install video on each as I go along.... here's the link to the first accessory fitment.
Put some new clock dials on my 2020 Speed Twin, from Arton Works, an Italian company. Found the OEM'S to be a bit fussy....anyway here's a link to my YouTube page if anyone is considering changing them. The new ones are great and a massive improvement, but crap at showing the warning lights if the dials are bathed in full sunlight
I went out for a lovely 80 mile blast early this morning on my Street Triple (solo, Helmut is on call for work). Didn’t stop to take any photos but did discover a new road that will be worthy of further exploration .
What did you use to polish your visor, @Dartplayer? I rode in rain quite a lot lately (Sturgis trip) and had some real issues with rain not beading up and messing up my vision.
Hi Sandi, I hope you are not being affected by Cyclone Hillary The best is to thoroughly clean and use RainX plastic, magic stuff. I haven’t used their anti fog, but use this on my boat I also use a product to detail my bikes and helmet between washes which works really well. Duraseal Qclean
Thanks, Dartplayer! I appreciate the info and recommendation. I know you have much more experience than I when it comes to rain riding needs. We've been only slightly affected by Hurricane Hillary as of the moment. It was quite stormy-looking and very, very windy today but the key word is "looking". Only a few scant drops of rain which we desperately need.
Today our Sunday morning group was small and we opted for a rather close to home breakfast ride as the weather seemed a bit threatening. So we headed north to the town of Oracle and the Oracle Patio Cafe. I rode El Gordo and was pleased that my front brake problem finally appears to be fixed. Long story, but I wound up with a new ABS module and, when that didn't solve the issue, my dealership also replaced the master cylinder. Another older H-D Fat Boy was here today, too, but not in our group. Does anyone know what this car is??? There's a little market inside the Patio Cafe and today I noticed this new display. I should have gotten a "beer" for Ellie! Although the skies were threatening and we rode home in ferocious winds, the temperatures were down about 30-35ºF!
Well, well, It seems I haven't yet learned to just go to bed when I'm tired rather than squeezing in a few last posts. As I've done a couple of times in the past, I just put posted on the "What you been doing with your Triumph today?" here instead of in the "What you been doing with your NON-Triumph today? thread. Sheesh........ Maybe El Gordo secretly yearns to be a Triumph??
Ok, right motorcycle brand this time but wrong day. This is what I did with my Speed Triple RS last weekend. It was my first ride on Speedy since we returned from our Sturgis trip so he was due for a good little shake-out. Breakfast ride to Coyote Pause........ A recent purchase at the Sturgis rally. This was one of my buddy's purchases, not mine. The significance of the Jackpine Gypsies M/C is that they were the club that started the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally 83 years ago in the Black Hills. Just a shorty ride but it felt good to be on this bike again. And it felt much different after riding a big Harley touring bike for 3K miles!
I've used a product called RainX @Sandi T https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rain-X-841...t=&hvlocphy=1007017&hvtargid=pla-863356823033 Edit; I realise reading further into the thread @Dartplayer has already responded so here's another vote for the same product
Bizarrely I saw one of these on Saturday, someone was working on his in his garage. It is a De Tomaso Pantera
Roads now open again around Glasgow, now we only need to put up with lycra clad pensioners cycling 3 abreast again. Wobbling all over the place,, they had the cheek to complain I was too close behind them at 10mph, yet I couldn't get my speed triple past them with the required 3feet margin. Ruined their wee chat for 5mins as they kept looking for me to pass,, they didn't move into single file so I couldn't
You had me double checking my link then @Helmut Visor in case of error on my part and so providing inappropriate advice Interesting point though Helmut as I have both products ( glass version and plastic version) and never used the wrong one on the wrong one, or had need to, but a wise caution indeed. Don't you think the manufacturer should make this more apparent?
Haha, no bud your link was fine but figured it would be easy to just see RainX and buy without realising there are two different types out there so figured it was worth a mention
That is an odd coincidence, @Helmet Visor! I wonder what the odds are of you and me both seeing one of these (seemingly) rare cars one day apart. Thanks for identifying it for me.
