I’m a runner so most evenings after work involve training or racing; consequently there’s not much time left for motorbiking until weekends.
Recent running has been harder than it should be so thinking possibly not fully over covid from end of May so today called for a rest day from running.
Every cloud has a silver lining and all that………
What a beautiful evening for a ride out, over to Buxton and Bakewell on roads much quieter so a bit more fun than summer weekends. From Bakewell over the circuit to Winster and the Via Gellia to Newhaven. Through Hartington and up to Staffordshire Moorlands, down to Leek and then back home to Cheshire.
About 80miles of familiar roads and really enjoying the Thruxton, was a good little ride out

Your Thruxton looks great, @FellZebra, and so does that scenery. Maybe skipping one of those runs isn't such a bad thing...said as a (mostly) former runner myself. ;):joy:

Excellent, @Vulpes! I'll bet he's quite happy and excited to be doing a road trip with his friends--both human and machine. ;):) Have a great trip and please tell Mrs. V hello from me.

I took the T120 out for a last ride for a fortnight as we go on holiday tonight. I had to cut the stem length of the left mirror when I fitted these as I just couldn’t position it where it didn’t hit the tank?

Glad you got in some good riding and training prior to your surgery, @Dartplayer! Good luck with the surgery and I hope and pray that all goes smoothly and that you have a full and rapid recovery. :):kissing_heart:

Aren't those mirrors typically positioned on top of the bars/grips, @Craizeehair? If you like them lower (as I usually do), perhaps some bar end mirrors would work well for you. You bike's looking good!

You need to snag yourself some bar ends, Greg. Have a lovely holiday, mate.

Thanks, it’s just about where I want it now. The mirrors are specific under bar mirrors designed for these new bars that I fitted, from BAAK in France. I do have bar end mirrors that I use on the regular bars but they don’t really work with these as they are wider and turn back slightly. They are working well now that I have managed to keep it off the tank

Appreciate the well wishes @Sandi T (and others :kissing_heart:).
The op went well with bone spurs removed and a hard piece cut from my Achilles (looks like a tooth).
Home resting and bandages off this Thursday. Strangely been enjoying the painkillers :imp:, but started to reduce them as I haven’t felt anything
Away ride booked for next weekend, so fingers crossed :p

So, so glad all went well with your surgery, @Dartplayer! And I'm glad to read you started to reduce the painkillers, particularly:p since you started enjoying them. It's amazing that you may be able to do a ride already next weekend! Yep, my fingers are crossed for you, too. :):kissing_heart:

After heavy rain for hours this morning, Helmut and I went out just before 1200 (me on the Street Triple, him on the Tuono) and went to the Oily Rag in Gloucester for a mooch, then Completely Motorbikes for another mooch and onto the airport for something to eat. There was a Hurricane there, which was nice to see.

We then made our way back home, getting a pretty good soaking on the way  (@Markus I can only assume you have had lovely weather today) but did see the Hurricane again, passing over us and then seeing a little bit of the event flypast it was doing - very nice.

    @Mrs Visor
Is the bike a Kawasaki KE 175 ?
I don't recall the colour but remember the model.

A bit of garage time today, rebuilding the headlight with a new shell and considering front indicator positioning.

This is my favourite option so far, a double ended threaded tube with a centre outlet for the wires, mounting off the reg/rec bolts (in the pic here the ali bar is held by my other hand in mock up mode).
Naturally once completed it will be satin black to blend in with the general theme.

The dust on the mudguard gives away the slow progress on this but not for the lack of enthusiasm, just life getting in the way plus other bikes to ride. Only the other day what should have been "bike/garage me time" turned into dining room wall lights and curtain rails : unamused:

Had a run out yesterday teatime with two mates on x2 Triumphs and a Honda.
A ride around the edge of the peak district and up via Langsett to the Dog and Partridge.
    Nice open views from here

Of course I asked the Honda rider to park his steed off shot :joy:

Even the wildlife came to see our bikes, here's a local Lapwing

I have had x3 Kawasaki KDX 200's and competed in enduros in the past.
Good bikes in their day and still good trail bikes today many many years later.
