I attempted to use this, Adie. But it transpired on my speed there's not enough room to actually apply it.

I’ve got a friend with sheds full of older Hondas (stop giggling). He buys genuine Honda oil filters and some of the less ancient models use a canister version and, would you believe, Mr Honda puts a filter cup type removal tool in the box with every filter. He has a draw full of ‘em and low and behold they fit Triumph oil filters too. So I have acquired several. Maybe everyone should have a Honda friend

I've got similar except I paid twice the amount for the Triumph one on the principle that it was sure to fit properly (yeh, I know). It is a nice black powder coated affair and seems very solid.

Advantage of these sort is that it's easy to get a torque wrench on there for people like me who like going by-the-book because they lack experience for doing things by feel.

I just put them on good hand tight, then whack another quarter turn or so on with the ratchet. Not had one drop off or leak yet :grinning:

No need to worry Ade, an oil filter is always going to come off. There's nothing to seize and you always "oil your rim" before fitting a new filter. I've always used the screwdriver method, never had a problem. If I can do it, anyone can, honest.

One last putt through the burb before the temps drop and the “wintery mix” sets in tomorrow.

Amusing enough this tune spun up just after we arrived on scene at the first joint. Always saw these guys as just a "poor man's Rush" but hey…. "Triumph."

Ran some petrol through the carbs on New Years day, can't leave it too long in these old T300's.

I thought I'd whack this in. I was just drinking a brew and looking at it, and thought you may want to too. :)

Uuumm well, with the Xmas traffic going down, all the overtaking lanes were blocked to protect the morons from crashing, so I enjoyed the free run home.
Also, after 4 months lockdown, the police are a lot fewer than normal :p
No point advertising the ‘slight’ overspeed :sun:
