As a kid I was told everything is upside down in New Zealand and Australia.

NOW I find out you hang pictures the same way as us.

    I do feel silly.

When I was a kid me and my mate tried to dig a hole to Australia. I think we dug about three feet down before we decided to leave it for another day. We never did finish it.:laughing:

Love how the diamonds hold you in the saddle, no movement. It’s comfortable, but ride was only hour each way, so time will tell. I am getting used to the back support sitting just behind me, nice on the rough stuff and potholes. :p Glove box is very handy, as I have taken all my keys off the bike key ring except ignition and glovebox.
The rest sit in the locked box, till needed:cool:
Did you notice the black sand. Our west coast benches have iron sand which makes for great 4x4 and off-road biking :sun: humidity was only 63% today, so good riding Spring weather:heart_eyes:
Off fishing tomorrow, so will try to get some action shots for you

Thanks for your take on the seat and the back rest, @Dartplayer. Sounds like it will work out well and that glove box does sound very handy. :)

Yes, I actually did notice the black sand and thought it very interesting and unusual. And I guess it's ok on your beaches for motorized vehicles to use them? Is that for just some beaches or all of them? I laughed when you said your humidity was only 63%. That's quite high for us--unless it's actually raining.

Only some beaches are permitted for vehicular traffic. Road rules apply :p
Today was a scorcher and was 59%. Our usual humidity makes 24’ feel like 30’ in the dry.

Beautiful morning, if a tad nippy at 9C. A leisurely ride along the river Vecht.

What I was doing with my Triumph today was sharing it with Mr. Sandi! Yesterday he said he'd like to ride it on our Sunday group ride so I prepped my Speed Triple for him and my Low Rider S for me. Back when he had a Street Triple he got a great deal on this jacket he's wearing in the photo--$100 on sale at our local dealership.
    IMG_4540.jpeg

Our group today was small but mighty. We met up at our usual QuikTrip gas station to fill up and to decide where to ride and to have breakfast. One guy (and bike) is missing from this photo. No surprise as he is late to the party about 90% of the time.:joy:

We decided to keep it simple and ride over Gates Pass to one of our Covid-era staples, Coyote Pause. I've posted a number of photos from this place over the last year and a half or so. But part of the draw of this restaurant is it's location. The route to get to there takes us into Tucson Mountain Park in the Tucson Mountains and over Gates Pass. The route back home takes us through Saguaro National Park West. I always marvel that we can ride through an actual national park on a typical Sunday morning ride and that it's only about 15 miles from our doorstep.

The restaurant was hopping this morning but we were the first ones to snag a table in the courtyard. We're still opting for outdoor seating whenever possible, especially lately since the Covid numbers are increasing in Pima County yet again. Plus it's really nice to sit outdoors right now because the weather is cool and lovely.

We met this little dog at the next table over. When her owner would sing to her, "I loooooove you!", the pooch would throw her head back and give her a howl in return! :joy::heart:
    IMG_4565.jpeg

Mr. Sandi was all smiles today riding my Speed Triple. :grinning:
    IMG_4545.jpeg

It doesn't happen all that often but on the occasions when Mr. Sandi rides one of my bikes, it's always fun to see two of my bikes parked side by side. And to see the bike out on the road. :) Mr. Sandi led the ride out to the restaurant and I was behind him in the group. It was good to see my bike from behind because I've always been a bit concerned about the visibility of my rear turn signals but I'd never really seen them for myself other than testing them in the garage. Today I realized worries were for naught because they are quite visible.

The bike mix this morning was composed of my Speed Triple RS, my Harley Low Rider S, a Harley Heritage Classic, a Harley Pan American, and a Yamaha Tracer GT.

Todays ride was one of those where you feel like you could just continue riding on and on and never stop. The weather was like Baby Bear's porridge--not too hot, not too cold....just right. And the vibe was mellow, relaxed. We all had mentioned that we had to get home and attend to projects and errands but not one seemed in a hurry to do that. It just felt good to be with friends, out in the beautiful desert, and on a motorcycle.

Cheers Sandi. Not my new home I'm afraid - in the 17th century lots of these houses (and grander) were built by wealthy Amsterdam merchants to evade the city in summer. The river Vecht, which springs in Utrecht and runs to the IJsselmeer (the former Zuyderzee, before it was dammed) provided a lovely cool and green environment during the hot months.
Mrs. V was playing horse today! Her new star needed tending as he was gelded this week... o_O

Well the 2020 Speed Twin my wife picked up last spring has been released back into the world for a new owner to enjoy. She traded it in on a 2022 Indian Chief Darkhorse. But, her new beast will still share a spot with my Rocket 3 GT in our stable.

You're quite right about some of the roads being "box straight n' square, DCS. Though you can't really tell from the Google Map, the parts of our route that were straight as an arrow are mostly in and through the Tucson city limits and the winding parts are out in the mountainous desert areas. So we have to put up with the straight roads (and numerous traffic lights) to get to "the good stuff". It is, however, worth it! :)
