That's what I do too and it works OK for me with Linux.

Actually, until recently I've been programming routes directly on the device, but as there is no way to backup those routes, thought I'd use the free version of MyRouteApp to create ITN files and keep a copy on my PC. You never know when satnav will fall foul of loss or damage.

A day out on the Explorer, Cheshire down to the Brecon Beacons and back today.
About 300miles all in and it’s been brilliant.
Fantastic scenery and very hot, but definitely no complaints about the temperatures, it’s a nice problem to have

Thanks although I wasn't exactly sure what the windows xp desktop picture was and had to google it!
But if Microsoft want a motorbike in the Brecon Beacons picture for future use, please tell them to get in touch ;)

MOT time today should be fine only thing I'm unsure of is the Norman Hyde silencers as when I looked at their website it says they are not road legal. On the plus side if they fail it came with an original pair of silencers. So fingers crossed I don't have to change them.

So on my Saturday ride out travelling towards Burbage/Marlborough, I came across the BikerPics photographer taking a few snaps. Was a bit disappointed as I had to slow down for a Sunday driver in his Mazda sports car struggling to get it out of second gear. But still checked on their website and the photo he took didn't look too bad so decided to splash the cash as it is the only pic I have of me actually riding the bike. (now I know why the guy on the Ducati Scrambler kept doing U turns at the roundabouts as he had several pics in both directions and was definitely posing

Well the bike failed :sob: rear light and brake light not working. (Should have checked before I left) garage was busy and didn't want to look incase it was wiring related being as both were not working. Brought a bulb rode home took the lens off and the bulb was black put new bulb in and all was good. Back to the garage and now have a shiny new 12 months MOT result :) they never even mentioned the silencers so double result.

Well technically not what I have done with my triumph today. But it sort of involves it, today I am a very lucky man. Came downstairs after my S,S,S and the wife said are these yours, holding a set of keys, on chaining up and covering up the bike I had left my keys on the bin at the front of the house. They were there all night and a guy saw them this morning and knocked the door to see if they were mine. It's nice to know that there are some good people around. I was going to blame old age and the weather but I was just stupid.

Was the tank empty and 300 unaccounted miles on the clock?

I've not being doing anything with my Triumph today because it's too effin hot, as it has been for a week. So I've bought myself a new suit which just arrived :)

Hopefully the light colour and those mesh panels will do their job.

That should help, @brown mouse! Have you ever tried a cooling vest? That's something that I pull out when the temperatures really rise. I wear it under my mesh riding jacket and it acts like a swamp cooler of sorts. It's more effective when the humidity is lower and when you're moving along. If the humidity is very high and you're in a lot of stop and go traffic it doesn't work quite as well. I've found that my vest will stay damp and continue to work as designed for about an hour or so depending on speed. It dries out faster on the freeways at 80mph than back roads at 50-60mph. But then I just stop off as a gas station and give it another soaking in the sink in the bathroom. On many occasions it have figuratively (and perhaps even literally) been a life saver in the summer! There are a number of cooling vest brands these days. Here's one that's simple and inexpensive.

I haven't, but thanks for the recommendation.

Normally we only get a week or two a year of really hot (for UK) weather, e.g. around 30C. What I think makes things bad on 'normal' summer days is the sun itself, and the usual black/dark bike gear just heats the rider up because of that.

I'll find out how things go tomorrow, forecast says sunny all day, 25C in morning 30C in afternoon. So I'll do a couple of hours bike riding both before and after lunch, all in the interest of science of course :)
