Motone fly screen and heated grips on. Pretty chilly today and the Oxford grips worked great. Not sure if I’ll leave the fly screen black or get it painted to match the bike. Opinions welcomed.

Early Dentist appointment, so was happy to arrive in rush hour traffic to find a scooter parking across the road fit my scooter perfectly

 

Looks great, Russell! My vote for the fly screen would be color matched.

Checked everything out yesterday ready for Betty's MOT this morning, got all wrapped up for a cold ride and she wouldn't start, It just had to be today of all days for the battery to die on me, so I've postponed the test for now and had to buy a new battery.

 

Finally got out on the Street Scrambler today since fitting the TEC fork springs. Gave it a good workout on the way home from the essential shop and must say I'm very pleased with the result. No need to grit my teeth anymore when I hit a pothole or large bump. Much more forgiving and comfortable without turning it into a space hopper. If I'm really picky I'd say a tad more preload would improve things even more so I may just try some slightly longer new spacers.

 

Had a fox run out in front of me today it was about 50 yds in front of me so I'd time to slow down, you very rarely see them up my way as they're pretty shy.i think that was only my 3rd fox I've ever seen in the wild and the first one that's ran across the road in front of me.
I'm always wary of deer early in the mornings or just as it's getting dark as there's a fair few of them up my way

 

I think urban Foxes are more common than their rural cousins these days. We have 2 wander down our street every night, in and out of gardens looking for grub no doubt. We have some open fields (from a long gone old school) over our back fence and some quite large expanses of woodland within a 1/4 mile or so which gives them plenty of day time cover.
A few years back I was heading over towards Loch Awe on the A819 from Inverary on the ZZR and had a Deer jump out if front of me around 40-50yds ahead. A great road that and I was knocking on but, thankfully, the Deer bounded straight across the road and dissappeard into the forest! Needless to say I wound it back for a few miles!

 

I'm guessing there will be phesant or grouse shoots in you area? They will be doing their bit to keep fox numbers down! If you go out at night and shine a powerful light across the fields it won't be long till you see a pair of those unmistakable bright red eyes! Rarely see foxes here during daylight but they are plentiful!

 

I've seen plenty of red eyes at night up here, but they're rabbits..i thought foxes had the same colour eyes as deer kind of yellow/greeny at night?

 

What about some of the available caps that have preload adjustment? Do you think they would be enough? They don’t seem to be too expensive and might finish off the springs nicely.

 

I spent a few years lamping them at night when I was in a pheasant club, deffently red.

 

Well, paid it off almost a year early. I didn’t want to use money set back when I bought it, so basically borrowed the banks money for a bit at a ridiculously low interest rate. I think I didn’t even give them $100 for interest over the last two years and at least it was a good bump for the old credit. I can truly say now I own my dream bike.

 

I'm not sure how much range the adjustable fork tops have. I've seen them on TEC's website but decided I don't need them. The spacers supplied with the springs are just pieces of straight plastic pipe. I have a length of exactly the same stuff lying in the garage so I can use that to make some slightly longer spacers to increase preload. It's barely 10 mins work to fit new one's, plus once I have a setting I like I'll not be changing it so don't really need adjustable fork tops. The springs are well worth the money though!
