Yes, I definitely can still enjoy the photos, @Dartplayer! :) But I sure do miss not only the sight of the ocean, but also the sound and the smell and the feel of it. We also missed a scheduled dive trip this past year. We'd planned to dive Cozumel in March 2020 but cancelled because of my bicycle accident. COVID hit very shortly after our cancellation so we'd have had to cancel the trip anyway. We're hoping to get back in the ocean at some point in 2021 but most likely it won't be until much later in the year. :(

Please keep posting those ocean photos! I definitely get enjoyment sharing vicariously in others "forum trips", too.:kissing_heart:

The weather today was beautiful with blue sunny skies, light winds, and the high temperature around 60ºF. Mr. Sandi on his Street Glide and I on my Speed Triple met up with our friend on his BMW R1100S. We rendezvoused at our local QT gas station at high noon when it had warmed up. We're not on lockdown but COVID conditions in Arizona are currently quite bad. So lately Mr. Sandi and I are still doing some riding but we've been riding only with each other or with one or two others and we choose our routes carefully. Today we rode to the north of Tucson through the small towns of Catalina, Oracle, and Mammoth to our turnaround point, Apache Sky Casino. Once you get out of Tucson, AZ State Route 77 has very little traffic and expansive views. Our round trip mileage including the road into the casino was 115. Today's ride was simple, lovely, and mind-clearing. And today, like nearly every time I ride my Speed Triple I found myself thinking, "I love this bike!"

There are a number of casinos operated by various tribes in Arizona. Apache Sky Casino is operated by, yep, the Apache tribe, specifically the San Carlos Apaches. The entry road to get to the casino is long, winding, and fairly majestic. The casino building itself is not majestic. It physically is composed of probably about five modular-type trailers arranged side by side. We've not been inside but have read that the gaming that is offered is primarily slot machines and some poker tables. And the casino is located way out in the middle of nowhere. It's five miles to the south of a little town called Dudleyville, population 959. The next closest towns are Winkleman (10 miles) and Mammoth (13 miles). From AZ State Road 77, if you didn't see the sign just before the turnoff to the two lane road that leads up to the casino, you wouldn't even know it's there. The sign in this next photo isn't visible from 77 -- you only see it when you are quite near to the casino itself. You definitely have to know where the casino is and be heading there on purpose! :joy:

We stopped just briefly in the main parking lot to stretch and chat a bit and to make a few clothing "adjustments". :) Things were looking pretty darned quiet today. I don't know about Apache Sky, but the two big casinos in the Tucson area--Casino del Sol and Desert Diamond Casino--were both closed during the lockdown in our early COVID times and stayed closed for some time after the lockdown orders were expired. I believe that both of those casinos are now open again and Apache Sky clearly was also. Open but slow.......

A great day out and about on Speedy. Much better than a therapist. ;) Hooray, Triumph! :grinning:

Another great set of pictures @Sandi T. . You are so lucky to be able to get out and ride. It is likely to be a couple of months before we in the UK are likely to get out and about in reasonable weather. Thanks for cheering me up on a very cold, damp and foggy morning ....

I think not, mate. Just a regular service interval check. Should have been done at 40K kilometres, but that mileage passed when I was in France. So I'll hear next week when he's checked.

Spent a couple of hours stripping all the silver bits off the bike today, I’ll get a couple of quotes in for anodising then get them sent off. I also removed the tank in preparation for the T120 one I have arriving next week.
Gotta say... this bike is a piece of piss compared to the BMW I did last year - loads easier.
Im thinking of getting some Hebco & Bekker crash bars for it, purely for looks mind... opinions welcome.

I'll keep doing my best to send some blue sky cheer your way, Wessa. I truly know that I'm lucky to be able to get out to ride. Truth be told, we probably should be on lockdown here in Arizona but since we aren't, Mr Sandi and I are going do a few things that feed our souls--like ride. We'll just try to do them as wisely and safely as possible. I hope that you get better weather along with the freedom to move about again soon. Hang in there.

Not sure if this should go here as it's about what I have NOT done with my Triumph.

Decided to hold on replacing the plastic tank hose couplings with metal ones eventhough I currently have the tank off the Daytona.

Although it's a common mod, I read too many cases of this 'easy fix' becoming a bit of a 'mare because the plastic ones can break when removing them.

Decided to apply the 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' mantra and concentrate on other jobs.

Weather is pretty gloomy in Iowa. Moved the battery charge around to all the bikes. Spent most of the afternoon with two of my neighbors, clearing the pack ice off the road on the hill. It was impossible to walk out there and even the trash hauler had trouble getting up. 3 men + salt + shovels = clear road. This is what community can do.

Take care all who are under prison lockdown, as it is extremely detrimental to your health and well being. Boredom, depression, bad eating habits, no exercise, excessive drinking, no social interactions all combine to destroy your immunity. You immune system is what keeps you healthy.

I went all the way to the garage, 25 paces from my armchair and checked to see if it was still there....It was.

Now that’s clever. You’ve moved my garage door to the other end, must remember that when I go out for my first ride in Spring or August or whenever. :grinning::grinning:
