It's all worth it, though. The adult beverage after, especially!

I’ve been a bit hesitant to remove my tank because of the fuel line fitting. Don’t have a clue as to how it’s supposed to work

Dilli moving the main fuse to above the battery tray makes it easily accessible and it’ll be in a dryer position and is a worth while mod. Quite a few peeps on the Tiger800 forum have done that mod.

@dilligaf if you go on the tiger800 forum there’s someone doing a 12,000 mile service and he’s been given a few ideas for tools to remove that pesky connector. I did it not so long ago, didn’t realise how fragile they were, god knows how I didn’t snap it!

Dilli I was going to say seeing as you’ve got the air filter off check the cleanliness of the stepper motor shaft,,,,,but it looks like you’ve possibly cleaned it already if you haven’t make sure it’s clean mate.

They are a f#cking pig! The one on my Street Triple was a nightmare, and as the connector from the tank (fuel pump) is plastic it was a real worry that the force required to remove would damage it :worried: I was convinced (wrongly) that I hadn't pressed the release buttons sufficiently, and I tried all sorts of things to try and get a better purchase on them, even taping small nuts to my fingers o_O:joy:, but it turned out that the once on the pipe is just a git to remove

There you are old lad I’ve circled the stepper motor.
There’s a shaft coming out of the top with a rubber gaiter,if this shaft gets dirty in can stick and you’ll have problems starting Mr Tigger.
Some peeps have put oil or grease on the shaft but all that does is dust or muck sticks to the shaft causing it to stick also.
It’s all well documented in the Tiger800 forum.

That is a LOT of bugs, OsteKuste! :p Those grips look great--glad they are working better for you. I tend to like grips that are a bit thicker myself. What you used looks quite a lot like some of the handlebar tape I've used on my bicycles over the years.

Good pics, Duck. Hey, have you ever compared the amount of time you spend working on your bike with the amount of time you spend riding it?! ;)
