The Norman Hyde "peashooter" exhaust saga continues. No replies from them for the last two weeks after the service hack "promised" to get back to me with "news from the factory". It really annoys me how these people will offer encouraging words, and have absolutely no intention of actually helping. Ordered back on July 9. Now I see they pulled the pipes off the USA eBay store, but the UK store still offers them. The only pipe on the eBay store now has a delivery of late September. Wonder what kind of games they are playing? They also stated in the email that the "classics" have a huge waiting list as well. I will hold on, maybe just to see how this comes out, but I really like this style and sound. At any rate, be advised when ordering anything from them.

pannier liners.jpg Just managed to bid for and win a couple of expedition case liners - £20.00 - couldn't believe it. Says Morrisons on the outside but not going to let that stop me. Couldn't upload picture yesterday but here they are - really! Don't know whether these will be any good but for that lucre what could possibly go wrong?

I wonder if Triumph shut down or slowed down parts production during the pandemic? I know that Harley-Davidson did. As I've been customizing my new Street Glide recently, some parts were available, some were slow to arrive, and some were on back order. I just got the last of them (saddlebag guards) yesterday after putting in an order in late May.

@Sandi T. it is very likely Triumph UK shutdown, but their production overseas may not have slowed greatly. The parts I ordered are not from Triumph, but are supposedly manufactured by Togo for Norman Hyde. I got an email from them about a week after the order stating it would be late by 5-10 days. I am now over double that time estimate, with no end in sight. I don't know anything about who actually builds their stuff, but I do know that our factory got back to work as soon as the "lockdown" insanity was lifted and we did not disappoint our customers (the few we had left). Perhaps they remain harassed by the government (that doesn't care about people's livelihood) or they have other internal problems with supply chain or backlog. They did offer a refund, which makes me think this is a backlog issue. A good problem to have, if it can be corrected quickly. Otherwise, dismal delivery performance coupled with an ambivalent customer service leaves a very bad odor for a long time to come.

Well, it's a lot cheaper than a tank or most of the guns you go on about, Duck. And I guess I should throw in motorcycle parts, too. I would think Mrs. Duck would be happy (or at least relieved) about £29 on some patches.

Yesterday was the clubs Ride for Bill ( a club member who is not very well ).
The plan was to meet up at The Jug & Glass topside of Ashbourne and escort Bill on a pillion around the area where he was born.
I filled up and set off for the M1, signs " no access to Lutterworth" no problem I am going north NO YOUR NOT!! the roundabout was closed and I am going south to A14 east to Welford junction and back to the M1 north, J24 - A50 - A515 but arrived early enough to eat a packed lunch.
About thirty assembled and we set off in groups of 6 or 8 around a scenic tour of Derbyshire for just over an hour, over a coffee my daughter rang to find out when I would be arriving for the BBQ in Northampton," a couple of hours".
Filled up again at Leics Forest ( 214 miles 18.84 litres) but £1.22.9/ltr ?
captive clientele (robbers) and it began to rain.
BBQ in the garden under a marquee and by the time I got home I had done exactly 300 miles.
Watching the snooker final today, not looking good for Wilson!

Great to meet @Duckadiledundee, and his lovely wife who did have great buns, very tasty :p

It was a bit like the blind leading the blind, but at least my equipment is in working order :p. We got the required map loaded and hopefully once Duck has his battery charged, all will be good.

I enjoyed the chat, coffee, Hobnobs and Mrs Ducks cake, cheers mate!

Well I have finally started changing Penelopes enging over to the one I have had for over a year now :D,
Lots of messing about but I'm getting there . Just have to decide if I leave the Screaming eagles on or put more standard pipes on . The motorways are a killer with noisy pipes

Sounds like it’s running better then, but you might still need to do a throttle body balance and TPS reset.
The revs dropping to 500 when coming to a stop is what mine used to do and it’d sometimes cut out. I tweaked the map on mine, resealed the TB gasket and balanced etc haven’t had the problem since.

Took the old Speedmaster in for MOT first thing this morning, nice little bimble along the lanes, bike passed with flying colours.

One thing I must do is get one of those bridging links and isolate the ruddy alarm drives me mad, just got to look where the connector block for the alarm is I suppose it's under the tank.

Normally under the seat rather than the tank with Triumph, but don't know specifically for the Speedmaster.

Fitted a pair of LED lights I had lying round the garage. Had them on the dirt bike originally and had forgotten about them. The standard headlamp is "adequate" but not great. The LED's make a hell of a difference. I've wired them into the main beam rather than having them permanently on with the dip which would mean aiming the beams down somewhat. Also thought about a LED replacement for the H4 in the headlamp (I also have a spare one of those lying around) but there's not enough room in the headlamp housing.
