We did indeed speak about me taking the 'sensible' option mate , all I meant was, if I had gazed upon the beauty & classic style of that Daytona I might not have made the sensible choice mate, especially in that colour!

Yeah Strontium yellow .... arguably the best factory production line colour Triumph have yet used ...... 'cept, maybe the first BRG? Oh, and the dog pecker pink and frogsnot green Speed Triples?

 

I agree, that yellow is stunning & it that colour very iconic, remember the 916 Ducati bet your picturing it in you mind in red? also iconic.

At this point @dilligaf will probably chip in a say that the best colour is the new Tiger red!

It’s 10mm OD 5mm ID with 2.5mm wall

Much, much cheaper than the Triumph parts and will probably last longer.

Thanks @Don the Don . Looks can be a little deceiving! Having said that it IS nice and in very good condition for a bike that's 27 years old! It's very much of its time, though - especially in things like the graphics and the size and weight of the thing. There's about 5 years of difference in age with the T595 but it could be 5 decades based on the weight, feel and power differences between the two!

I'll get some more pictures up when the sun shines and I get the chance to get it road legal.

 

Me and mate had a ride around the Yorkshire dales, we called at Reeth for tea and cake then along to butter tubs then through Hawes and round the back of pen-y -Ghent for flask and sarny, great day out.

 

Getting a new tyre fitted on the Street Triple...



I knew my rear tyre was low, but when I got back from the GMU I noticed it was cracking ...



I'd like to give GTEC Performance (Ducati specialists) a plug - http://www.gtecperformance.co.uk/index.html - Nice chaps, and fitted the tyre for £20

I was having difficulty finding someone to fit an owner supplied tyre, all the main tyre fitters I tried would not touch motorcycle tyres, and Pure Triumph are short staffed at the moment and couldn't do it for two weeks! - I called GTEC yeterday afternoon, and even though they are busy, they said no problem, they would fit me in next day (today).

 

Too many burn-outs, bruh.

 

Hectic week on the bike, last Thursday discovered a flat on the rear tyre, had a real pain trying to get a paddock stand to get the wheel out, and I’ve now ended up with two stands because the first got drop shipped to the wrong house, the Seller on Amazon and Courier DPD did bugger all to rectify it, fortunately the guy who had it incorrectly delivered dropped it off to me on Wednesday, glad there’s some honest people about
Took the wheel to local tyre shop here in Eastbourne, who repaired the tyre in about an hour and a half - very happy with the work and as a local family business they’ll get my tyre business from here on in
So having had the tyre sorted and put the rear wheel back started adjusting the chain properly and found tight spot after loose spot after tight spot - noticed that if I pulled the chain back from the rear sprocket I could see daylight between the teeth - so chain buggered and needing replacement - ordered new chain and chain breaker from Wemoto on Wednesday night and they arrived today Friday afternoon, great service
So this evening was breaking the chain ready to fit the new one tomorrow

Was really pleased I managed to grind the chain post off to split the chain
This is more mechanicing than I’ve ever done in the past
It must be love

It gets cleaned every week whether it needs it or not

 

Yes I rode a 1200 Trophy for a while and they are thirsty. This 900 trophy varies from around 50 mpg with the trailer on to usually 54/56 without always "making progress" as the good book advises.

 

@Shaun64 Sat up at the Kings Arms (Reeth) on the green, yesterday afternoon 16:00 ish. Saw forty bikes odd including a couple of Velocette's. Have a couple of piccies when I get around to it. Stunning location......absolutely beautiful.
