Looks great @Dartplayer. Trust that was fruit juice if you were riding home?

I was disappointed @Dartplayer. When you mentioned big jugs I was expecting a photo of a well endowed barmaid.

When out for a run today and met up with a few mates. These are their HDs.
Do not know who owned the Bussa but it is my Speedmaster behind it.

Today I waved goodbye to Growler... :(

Taken away for his 20k / 2-year service :) When he comes back, due for some more TLC...

    drivechain.png

Original chain was at wear limit according to specs in owners manual, though otherwise seems OK. Rear sprocket looked OK too but thought I'd also do sprockets at same time as that only adds about 30% to the cost.

Never riveted a chain before so been watching Youtube vids and bought a cheap DID KM500 copy. Plan on grinding off rivet head on old chain before breaking.

I'm resisting buying an angle grinder in case I find it too much fun :p
I already have a Dremel that came with some grinding bits, so thought I'd give that a go.

Finished being a teacher (Covid enforced) for a bit.........so bibbled off around and about. First to Super Sausage on the Watling Street - still shut, then to sailing club - nobody about, stopped and watered a tree, then to Sywell Aerodrome. And what did I see there? A Flying Legends, two seater Spit being cleaned up after a two day event and Triumph works doing some sort of speed trials or summit up and down the runway. Couldn't tell what make but that's what a couple PCSO's said. Anybody know anything about it? I don't. Any way it was a bit of Nirvana given that a possy of bikes turned up. Worth visiting Sywell if you have never been. 1930's control tower building with restaurant, small museum, mounted Buccaneer and lots of domestic aeroplanes and helicopters. So, you can sit with a fruit juice from the bar and just idle away a couple of hours watching the circuit and bumps.

I didn't know there was Spit version with a Massey Ferguson mounted at the tail? And I know the aeroplane is an iconic item but don't feel it necessary for those blokes to prostrate themselves by praying to it.............

Put the trailer on and visited a few friends who had stuff to donate to the charity I support, ( walking aids clothes toys and some suitcases) and took them to our warehouse in Mansfield. After unloading I spent a few hours sorting already donated stock then rode home, round trip of 135 miles. Out with the Fossil riders tomorrow, meeting at Market Harborough Maccas then B6047 north towards Grantham probably?

Hi, todays ride ended up at a garden centre near Grantham for sausage roll, treacle tart and coffee before a ride home ( a lot of B6047 both ways). Just over 100 miles 7.99 litres to fill up = 58 mpg and we weren't hanging about 11 riders all told. As to stickers, this Trophy is my second 1993 one, I wore the first one out after 130,000 miles and got this one last year with only 58,000 on the clock. the first had stickers from rallies from FIM Hasselt 1993 and as a competition for the club christmas party a couple of years ago the question was "how many stickers on Bobs bike and the winner got closest with 117 and I had to take photos from 4 sides and tick them off as I counted them so this one is a work in progress, I started on the right as it is easier from that side as it is too heavy to put on the centre stand without the rising block.

    Hi duck.
I had something like this an my gen 1 busa quite a few years ago.
Turns out the fuel pipes "collapsed" when under vacuum as they were getting old.
Fine when plodding along but when it wanted more fuel from the pump, it'd slow down.
Worth a go if you’ve not done that?
Pipe is pretty cheap on fleabay.

Both very nice @Adie P it's lucky you didn't show me the Daytona when I picked the Sprint up or I may have wavered! ;)
I am assume a zero sum game means it was a straight swap for the 750? :)

The (yellow) T595 Daytona was - or seemed - monstrously quick! The motor was turbine smooth and response to the throttle made my licence flutter with excitement and fear! Since DVLA has steadfastly refused to send my new licence out to me I'm already skating on thin ice. I don't want to lose it completely before I even get it!!

The (red) T3 Daytona is old school .... no, VERY old school ..... but, for me, has that T3 charm and indefinable 'character' that I love so much about them.

We did speak briefly about the T595, I seem to recall, but you wanted something with more touring or two-up capabilities?

The zero sum game, Duck, is a way of saying what one side of a transaction loses, the other side gains - so the transaction is balanced. In this instance I wasn't actually referring to the transaction being a straight swap financially - I had to pay quite a bit more for the T3 - but, rather, that the number of Triumph machines in the 'collection' remains fundamentally unchanged!

A neutral observer might suggest that the red one is far more suitable being older, slower and, probably, a bit more quirky! :D

I have no idea how you managed to get 58mpg out of one of these, my 1992 900 trophy did around 48mpg normally from new, never 58. My 2002 trophy 1200 cannot manage more than 44mpg and is more often around 40. It's been like that since new. Maybe I need more millage to loosen the motor up!
