Thanks @Sandi T. it is always a bit annoying. I'm ugly, but friendly in a strange kind of way, so I think it is just the steed I choose. Some of these fellows seem so caught up in impersonating gang, no.. Club Members. I never know if I should throw them a wave or not. An odd custom, at any rate.

I understand, Hobnail. I find myself getting annoyed when other bikers don't wave--no matter what they're riding. But then I think that I may be taking it more personally than it's meant. Or I realize that sometimes someone throws me a wave and I'm unable to wave back because I've pulled my clutch in or maybe didn't see them through the median until the last second so maybe that's what's happening with them, too.

I also get disliking the "impersonating Club Members" thing. I'm not keen on that either. But back at a the very first motorcycle rally I attended I learned through some interactions that many if not most of guys with "that look" are pretty down to earth if you interact with them about bikes. I remember when we were heading to my first ever MC rally (Laughlin River Run) that Mr. Sandi said that my negative perceptions about "bikers" would be rendered incorrect for the most part and that, again for the most part, I would find the bikers who looked rough and scary to be polite and considerate and that I wouldn't hear a cross word or see a fight during the whole long weekend of the rally. He was right. My preconceived notions were wrong. I've had lovely conversations with guys with a Hell's Angel cut on and lived to tell about it. :)

But to balance things out, Mr. Sandi was at Laughlin back in 2002 (in the BS era--Before Sandi) when the Mongols and Hell's Angels got into it and people died. He had friends calling him up to see if he was ok. Since it happened in the wee hours of the morning and in a casino that he wasn't staying at, he didn't even know anything had happened until those friends rang him up. So I'm not totally naive. But I have learned to not judge a book by its cover or a biker by his ride and attire and tats and hair/beard.

I think the folks that are most into impersonating Club Members tend to be weekend warriors--doctors and lawyers and such. No data to back that up, though...just anecdotal.

BTW, I can't imagine that you're ugly. You certainly aren't in spirit! :kissing_heart:

A nice blast to have a cuppa and a cake at Buttercups Tearooms on the Melton - Market Harborough road.

Perfect length jaunt on a 'sportsbike' at my age :)

You may try popping open the filler cap when this occurs. (Not while riding...o_O) The vacuum should equalize and you should be berries until later down the road. The raised vent in the filler cap base is the breather. It seals on the cap and provides some one way air movement. Try to pass a stiff wire down the vent hole to clear junk. Or it could be the cap.

And just as a side: My RS always seems to surge at slower speeds, around 3000 rpm is about the worst. It's always been. Not really annoying, but it makes me hunt around for another gear or speed.

I guess what do you mean by running poorly?

I would say about a third of the normal crowds. St Just, Sennen cove and St Michaels mount were also getting busier

Antibiotics might help that, or possibly a poultice

Met with six other Ulysses riders at Stoke Bruern, Northants. Took a ride into the canal tunnel on a narrow boat and had a coffee and bacon butty from the pub. Only a couple of light showers, a good ride and meet up.

Leisurely ride out to enjoy the sun while it’s out. Murphy’s Irish bar has good sized jugs and food.
