Took a trip out to Wolverhampton Airfield, bit of a route recce for my imminent service. Cafe still closed but nice ride out apart from the newly laid tar chipping sections.

Just had a pop out on norbs, hew I'm not kidding, it's loud! It sounds like a Impreza mixed with a V8, didn't get the opportunity to make a video but I will tomorrow.

it also feels about a million bhp more and I was in road mode. :scream:

This afternoon I polished up my Speed Triple RS and aired up the tires for Mr. Sandi. :grinning: He's going to take it out for a spin with a riding buddy of ours tomorrow morning. My bike hasn't been out for over a month so could stand a bit of "exercise".

I'm still not quite at the point where I can ride, unfortunately, but am getting closer each day. As soon as I can bend my elbow just enough to don and doff my helmet I plan to be out on the road again. I'm hopeful that will be within a few weeks or so. Then I'll be able to actually post a rideout post that's about A RIDE! :joy: Next week will mark six months since I've been able to ride and I'm missing it terribly.:sob: Many a night I actually dream that I'm riding!

Not so much a "mission" Sandi, I just needed a destination for a ride today, and it seemed like a fun idea to have a look where we are going :)

This reminds me of something Mr. Sandi said when I first started riding. He said that "riding a motorcycle can turn even going down the street for a cheeseburger into an adventure". :)

1020 mile tour Cornwall and Devon, motorways, fast A roads, super twisty B roads, occasional farm track, stunning scenery, Dartmoor, Scrambler 1200 didn’t miss a beat, great machine. Calimoto found some excellent roads

Nice ride out down some very narrow country lanes via Sudeley Castle.

Surprisingly despite a super firm seat with very little padding it was okay, bad back and sore knees though, but worth it

Can’t remember if I’ve asked this before but did you change the filter in the tank when you had it apart?

Took a short 100 miler with a friend today. Rode Lucifer the RS and he was on his Yamaha V-Star. Iowa is pretty straight, but we found a few serpentine sequences. I was surprised the Yamy did well in the curves, which shows his riding ability more than anything. All the Harley types were giving us the wave, or specifically him, as they mistook the Star for HD. This same lot turns up their collective noses at the RS when I ride solo. So it goes. All in all, a pleasant day out, as I seldom get the chance to ride someplace other than work.

Must be those I-O-WAY Harley riders, @Hobnail. ;) When I'm out on my Speed Triple in Arizona, the H-D riders wave to me.:) Or...hmmm...maybe it's you? Nah, you seem like too good a guy for it to be you. :joy: Having grown up in southern Minnesota only an hour from the Iowa border ( and I was born in Iowa and lived there until I was 7), I will blame it on Iowa Harley riders. :joy:

And probably lots of Minnesota Harley riders, too, lest you think I'm discriminating against Iowans, Hobnail! :joy: Case in point. There's a guy I've known since we were both kids-- Sheldon. He and my brother still do some farming together so I usually see Sheldon at some point when I'm back there visiting family. He rides a Harley and he DEFINITELY wouldn't wave to me if I was on my Speed Triple even if he knew it was me! And it's not like he doesn't know I have Harleys. But when I bought my first Triumph a couple of years after buying my first bike (a Harley), my mom showed Sheldon a photo of my new Thruxton. She told me that his response was, "Why the heck would she buy a motorcycle that's not a Harley??" Sheesh..... But then Sheldon and I don't see eye to eye on much, especially politics. We've also always disagreed on Ford vs. Chevy. ;)

Glad you got to get out for a pleasure ride on what looks like a beautiful day back in the Midwest! :grinning::sun:
