That’s a nice bit of road. I run it several times a season.

Finally got a "round tu-it" and used it to go after the annoying oil leak on Virginia. I knew something was amiss when the nice lady in Minnetonka asked me if I was handy with bikes. At any rate, it was weeping oil from the cam cover. Cheapness set in and I just thought I would try clean up and Permatex. Worked out well, and the orange version I used left a nice stripe that kind of works with the bike style. The big deal is I have a dry head now.

Went out for a bimble yesterday, first stop at Birk Brow for a cuppa just out of Guisborough, then onto Olivers Mount for a coffee, plenty of bikes out, I don't know how the hell they race around there. Then onto Thirsk via Helmsley and Sutton Bank, then home via Darlington , covered 175 miles , me backs aching now but had a great day out.

Alternator is the usual suspect. If you recall, this happened when you just left the bike idling in the garage. Flat battery. Charge it up again and get bike running, then check voltage across the battery. Should be at least 14 volts, and rise somewhat with RPM. 15 volts is specified as maximum. The rectifier is on the alternator. If voltage is not maintained, most likely either alternator or rectifier maybe bad.

Don't buy one Duck. Somebody on the forum has the instrument and should be able to do a simple measurement to help you out. I would come out, but it a long walk / swim. ANYBODY OUT THERE THAT CAN HELP?

Just washed the bikes after a weekend of me and Mrs Mel exploring Exmoor on them.

Ok, took a while to get the fork parts delivered, but I’ve now got my Explorer back together with newly powder coated wheels.
I’m happy with the result 2DAA77F7-863B-4FB8-AAF0-43695CF62AF3.jpeg

    And that's exactly what I did :)

Then a bit of TLC for the Dayt ahead of its track debut tomorrow :)

Perhaps having a week off work and not going abroad isn't so bad after all!

    Good thanks :)

Even in the novices, only about 25% of the bikes were road bikes - place was full of racers, but even though it was quite lively on track, the couple of red flags only lasted a few minutes so everybody got their track time and nobody left in an ambulance.

I ache like hell, which definitely shows I haven't been on track for a few years and am a few years older!

The Daytona performed very well. A couple of things identified as my next things to work on, but all fine and as expected.

I had a great time - really nice to give the Daytona its legs and play in a way you'd be insane to do on the roads.

    Gorgeous sunshine helped :)

Social distancing meant only 3 bikes per garage, but I managed to fit in one.

Apart from briefing online, 2m quequing for a wrist band and more limited grub options, not real other signs socail distancing. Spectators could easily have turned up - there were plenty there, including 'teams' working on some riders' bikes, going over telemetry on laptops, etc. partners and kids!

    What you got planned next?

Took a 900 GT Pro out today while the Street Triple had it's first service to compare to my 800 XRt.
Slightly better acceleration and brakes, fuel consumption was about the same, more vibey from @ 75mph up, could put up with the vibes at 75 long distance but 80 would be too vibey for any distance.
Handling was fine, rear shock a little bouncy until the damping was maxed out and preload set for two (I'm just under 16 stone).
It's a little lower than the 800 but didn't make much difference for me.
Noticed a fair bit of heat over my lower legs that I don't get with the 800, I guess from the new side mounted rads.
Overall probably better than the 800 on paper in most respects but the way I ride the 800 (mainly touring and more relaxed riding, with the odd burst of enthusiasm), there's not enough difference.
Was thinking about possibly trading up at the end of the year if the 900 was a big enough step up but I think I'll stick with the 800 after today's ride.

Taken the SS out on the dirt again with my lad on his bike.

I can confirm that a 22 year old that thinks he's still made of rubber and magic on a YBR125 is faster on heavily rutted gravel that a 55 year old that knows he's not on a Street Scrambler

Glad you had a good day mate, not surprised that there were so many racers there, everyone trying to get seat time ahead of racing getting going. I posted a new thread on racing forum about our revised season. Looks like my next track time will be a 2 day official test at Cadwell next month.

Done jobs on scrambler, tail tidy and new seat, adds to the charm.
She needs to be louder but maintain the original pipes, anyone on here got a cat replacement for sale?
I absolutely adore this little bike. :)

Another week, another trip to the Peak District, I just couldn't keep away! This time I took the new roads I found last time in reverse, sorta making them new again :). Did the peaks because I'm going Lincolnshire way tomorrow to take Mrs Mouse to the seaside, on the bike of course. :grinning: (Car hasn't moved since lockdown started)
