Japan was nice. In Saudi I was there for the gulf war so lived in a tent and worked 14 hours a day keeping A-10 Thunderbolts (Warthogs) in the air. My brother says it was ok in the "civilized" areas -whatever that means. Haha

I always think there's a weird kind of 'synergy' in the fact that the BSA A10 was then modernised to become the Thunderbolt (A65) and which - to my jaundiced and highly subjective eyes - always comes across as the 'ugly duckling' of the bike world in much the same way as its namesake aeroplane does in aviation circles.

I'd guess they also share a common characteristic of being much loved and respected for their abilities by their owners/operators.

Managed to get out in the dull grey skies of Cornwall this morning before getting caught in the downpour. Got lost in the lanes near St Veet and came across this abandoned building right next to the river. I'm sure some Londoner could buy it and have the vast amounts needed to do it up.

Yep, Adie P, the A-10 never really broke, we just had to patch bullet and shrapnel holes when they returned from missions. Tough as boot leather.

Wow, @SleepyOwl, that is one of the best photos ever! :grinning::heart: I do think you need to make it into a poster or have it printed on wood or glass or something. It's so good you could even see if you could market it to Triumph. ;)

By the way, 'So pigs do fly?' was merely a 'joke' in the sense that warthogs (pigs) can fly and didn't mean anything else. JtC you are welcome to my neck of the woods any day. I hope that whoever 'agreed' didn't have something else in mind. Just sayin'.

Thanks Sandi. Must have just been the correct moment I suppose. It was an iPhone picture with a touch up on Lightroom as it was all a bit grey.
Maybe I can get some royalty’s from Triumph:joy::joy:

Managed to get the wheels back with the new tires installed. Been a busy week. This was the first time I’ve taken the wheels off a bike, so hopefully i put them back on correctly! I’ll know I didn’t if one passes me on the road. Armed with a torque wrench and a shop manual it wasn’t that bad a job, rather enjoyed it. Once I get a road test in I’ll give an opinion of these new Conti Road Attack 3s.

I’ve used Contis before and was quite impressed with them for not being a ‘premium’ tyre. :grinning:

Today I had a good run to London again to test out the new dual comfort seat, and it is an improvement over the stock single seat, certainly I can last longer than the hour!!
And looks pretty good too (minus the parking ticket!)

EDIT: managed the whole 2 1/4 hour journey back home so a thumbs up for the comfort seat - arse still hurts but bearable:confused:

Yep he’s an absolute cockwomble, he reinstated the congestion charge when Boris told everyone to go back to work and TFL couldn’t arrange socially distanced public transport - mayhem!
