After doing over 1000 miles during my long weekend I have spent the day giving the Trophy a lot of TLC. A good wash down, plenty of polishing and generally making sure everything is secure and properly adjusted.

I'm having a quiet week this week. Only a few local runs planned, nothing over 100 miles.

Next weekend my mate and I are heading off to Buckie in Northern Scotland. We are going to set off early Friday morning and hope to do the run up without overnighting. However that does depend on the weather. Saturday and Sunday we plan to tour around the Highlands. We will head home on Monday, again without overnighting if possible.

Day off so took the Daytona out for a spin this morning as roads were fairly dry and went and spoke to a chap who is a very good spray painter who had a look at the bike as there is a couple of things that need fixing.
I have removed the old tank protector to replace it with a proper triumph one but in the past some one has used some horrible glue to stop it coming off in the past at the top of the old tank protector which is well above were the original one goes. So currently have the tank off the bike and I have just spent the last couple of hours using 1500 and 2000 sandpaper slowly removing the glue without loosing any paint, I have also masked up around it to save any slip ups.

I have also got to remove the front faring to bring inside and try and build up a scratch that my daughter managed to make with her push bike last year which is going take a few weeks of filling in with lacquer and rubbing down to try and hide it as much as possible.

Also been busy mocking the CB 750 up ready for fabrication. I'm have been speaking to Hagon and have been looking at replacement rear shocks but also adding another inch in length to them for two reasons. One, to improve ground clearance and two, to steepen the steering rake angle up a bit. Just got to be a bit careful that I don't get too carried away as if I go too far them i may have issues with the chain rubbing against the swingarm too much and you end up with horrible vibration and chatter coming from the back. Ordered a set of handlebars the same as the Merdian Trophy trials bike to go on as well. :upyeah:

Ordered a new airbox for the Sprint Sports as the old one has been overtightened by some butcher previously and has cracked.

Late start this morning. We arrived in Buckie last night after nearly twelve hours in the saddle. The ride was exhilarating to say the least. Today we are heading north to Thurso then west to Cape Wrath before returning to Buckie. Catch you all later.

Well we are back at Buckie after a great ride around Northern Scotland. We are just about to tuck in to a great bowl of stew and dumplings. Then a night in the local hostelry.
Tomorrow we are heading south west to Buttermere in the Lake District. On Monday we want to ride some of the passes in Cumbria before heading home.

Well we had a great ride from Buckie to Buttermere. Weather was pretty good and traffic was lighter than expected. Tomorrow we will have a tour around Cumbria before heading home.

Picked the bike up after having it fully serviced, valves checked, carbs balanced, new chain and sprockets and wheels powder coated. Was running nice before, even sweeter now and gears change better thanks to the new chain. Got back to my garage and fitted my adjustable footrests . There doesnt look a lot of movement but it seems deceptive., there are 8 settings, I wanted lower. No time to road test as have to take mrs to the docs but sitting on the bike it seems a nice position, more relaxed. Only thing is they are smaller than standard footrests and I have big feet, lol.

Today i have been mostly cleaning and polishing my recently acquired 2010 speed triple as the previous owner had kept it in a sorry state,i also de-catted it and got it welded up again at the local garage, and have just finished ordering a new chain and sprocket kit and a pair of stainless Scorpion serket end cans now thats enough for today.

Just got back from my trip to Northern Scotland and the Lake District. We covered just over 1500 miles in four days. Saw lots of vintage cars on Honister Pass. All of them going very slowly.
This morning was spent off roading and this afternoon was a straight motorway run home. Traffic was pretty busy but no hold ups, so no stressful moments.
Tomorrow is cleaning and maintenance day, plenty to do.:upyeah:

Yesterday, just getting back from the ACE Cafe remembrance service. First trip out in my refurbished used BRITISH made Wolf leathers. Pro cleaned by Cobra in Swindon with a new zip fitted.

Some Scottish chap sidled up to me and said he wished he'd bought one like mine but settled on an old Fireblade instead...wasn't impressed with it. Said he'd made a mistake...FOOL!

Nothing wrong with the old Blades Klink, although the T955i's have a load more character

Spent the morning cleaning and polishing the Trophy. Going out this afternoon on my mates Explorer. I'm going to Castle Doninton to an helmet dealer to try on and if possible buy a new flip front helmet.
The Explorer will get a good clean and polish when I get back.

Back from Castle Donington. No suitable helmets in my size. Had a ride through some of the villages surrounding Donington Park Race Track. Very nice indeed.

Off to Southwold again today. Last overnighter before my misses gets home from visiting her sister. I'm using my mates Explorer XC, I'm buying one next year and want to confirm that I have made the right decision. I will be keeping my Trophy SE, I intend to share the mileage between the two motorcycles.:upyeah:

Had an extremely nice ride to Southwold on the Explorer. So different from my Trophy. The ride across the Fens was exhilarating and great fun. However I had a near miss near Halesworth when a lunatic in a BMW came round a bend on the wrong side of the road and travelling far to fast. Luckily I was able to take avoiding action and he missed me with inches to spare.
Tomorrow I going to ride along the coastal road through Suffolk and Norfolk before heading back home.
