Woke up, got on my baby and rode her hard through the country roads.
Praying that I didn't get flashed by a couple of camers and before I knew I hit the sea and ran out of land!!,!

Just put together 2 padock stands, one for the single swing arm Speed Triple and one twin sided for the Mr's Street trip. Should make working on the bikes a bit easier.

Installed a Kaoko cruise control on the T-Bird - seems to be a good piece of kit (except for the price)

Been given both bikes a good clean and working on the Daytona's exhaust with Autosol to get rid of the odd bit of corrosion.

Still waiting to hear back about the Super III ...

Made it up to the Lakes on the Tiger 800 XC, wife took her Street Triple and we met up with a few friends stopping at the Brotherswater Inn. Had a great laugh.

Put a new speedo cable on the trident this morning, cleaned the bikes so they are looking pristine

Have spoken to the guy that owns the Super III for sale the other bloke wants to use it (A 1996 Daytona 900 Super III with 4050 miles and only 105 built that year in the world!!) as a track day bike

I know we are not meant to swear but what a *&^*&T%% Muppet and first time he comes off he is buggered as you cannot get parts for these bikes anymore!!

I this was a month later this wouldn't be a problem but need to wait for my redundcy to got through.

    Cheers

Have found out that i have missed out on purchasing the Daytona Super III .... Totally Gutted :frown:

But took the Trident out to Loomies for lunch and meet up with a couple of blokes I know and rode back together on 3 Tridents, My 97 750. A fully restored T150 and Roger's X75 Hurricane  Many heads were turned as we rode past and I have taken the baffle out of the front of the exhaust and it sounds fantastic now and also seems to rev out better.

Finished work at 10.30am, straight home, Sun's out so got changed, hopped on the Bonnie, wife on the back, and a wee ride out around the countryside and along the coast for a couple of hours... got home, she jumps off, I take it up the drive nice and slow, park by the window as usual, feeling happy with myself, hop off the Bonnie and...... splat! Lying on my back on the drive like a twat, Bonnie on her side... forgot to put the side stand down... whit a numpty!!!
After the initial shock and embarrasement, got my baby up, checked she was ok, left clutch lever broke off just an inch from the wee round bit at the end, I've stuck it back on with superglue, but will probably have to order another one... other than that the bike seems ok... my poor Bonnie!! :frown:

Cold beer required now, I'll give her a wash and some tlc tomorrow

Most of us have done that (or come close to the ground before making a strenuous recovery)... while embarrassing, one usually does it only once! Beer solves almost everything!

    Nice work Alan

This was my main gripe when I rode the Thunderbird Storm, with a full face helmet you cannot see the instruments on the tank at all.

For the America best suggestion to Triumph is to put the indicator warning light inside the Speedo instead of on the tank.

Interesting to see what the finished product looks like

Went to Wetherby Autojumble just off A1 in Yorkshire, they ran out of chips!!! Had to make do with cheeseburger  Got a double helmet topbox £20 and two stainless steel cap bolts to fit crash bars AND steering damper to my 2009SE Bonnie £1.50 each. I wonder what a dealer would charge for those. A circular angled plug gap setter (never seen one before) put in plug turn until correct setting reached, simple. A roll of webbed rubber matting £2 to prevent scuffing of frame and rear guard when I fit saddlebags I bought.

We have had some local toe rag stealing stuff from garages in our area as of late, and if ever catch the little scumbag I will string him up by his toes

Fitted and alarm to the garage and disc locks to the bikes, was thinking of putting a machine gun emplacement over the garage but the wife thinks that might be a bit over the top.

Women....... No sense of humour whatsoever

Did a run through down towards castle Douglas, through the Galloway forest, on to Portpatrick for some Cullen Skink soup, and back up the A75 to Ayr... Superb fun, bike is running ok after my wee tumble yesterday (thank God) and the wee round bit on the end of my clutch lever I superglued back on is still stuck fast! Happy days!

Finally decided to make a start on finishing what needs to be done to the Daytona to be up to scratch.

First up, change the air filter, that will be a 5 minute job........ No! got to take the carbs off to get at the air filter (must be a former British Leyland designer who thought of that brilliant idea) might as well get the carbs cleaned and serviced while I've got them out.

Ordered a K&N filter and Iridium plugs, will also get the wheels and the rear hangers powder coated and change the coolant and then hopefully the Daytona will be finished.

Also need to sort the gear change linkage on the Trident and find some one to sort out the front suspension as it just doesn't feel right at the moment.

Then I might be able to make a start on the CB 750 Cafe project again, hoping to find someone that will vapor blast the engine without have to take the thing to bits.

These winter projects have seemed to over run somewhat

Try one of these instead of the machine gun post, give em a 'warm' welcome
