Fitted new footpeg rubbers today, as the old ones were really worn. New ones for just under £12 from Sprint Manufacturing, via ebay.

Now SPOT. (Stupid Previous Owner Trick) Yes.. P. O. had crossthreaded the screws holding the rubbers on. Steel screws, alloy pegs too. One had been mullared enough that it had had a larger diameter screw forced in it. So, I had to take the pegs off, and drill the bolts out using the pillar drill.

Cut new threads, slightly larger, and fitted new dome headed Allen bolts, with coppaslip.

    All good fun!

Then preceded to ride up the North Coast to the post office in Thurso to send off a couple of Land Rover lift pumps to a mate. Any excuse... Jeezo, it was hot!

After a 320 mile ride yesterday afternoon, tonight I broke 1000 miles while making a burger run, and watched the tach zoom to 9500 before I let off, as I rapidly approached traffic. Not the time or place to go full wazoo.

Five of us went to Littlehampton (East Beach Cafe) for breakfast. As we were leaving a chap turned up on Daytona and was pleased at least two us were keeping British industry going as there as a BMW, Yamaha and two HDs in our group.

We then went to Worthing to a classic car show.

Not sure why this counts as a classic but thought of DD... something for him to aspire too....

Edit: oh I tried out my new ventilated jackets and motorcycling jeans too - and fixed a knackered LED on my “I’m here lighting”.

Thought my earplugs were great, didn’t hear a thing! Caught up with him at some lights and realised it was electric. The guy said it had a 140 mile range and a 60 min fast charge function. Not fantastic but getting there. It certainly seemed to handle well and shifted. Bit pricey but I’m sure prices will drop as demand and technology improve
