    I got landed with leading the way - hell, what a lot of grumbling gits - half said I was too fast (Harley riders) and everyone else asked why we didn’t overtake anything. Can’t please anyone, any of the time...

    Started to prep the bike for Scotland tour, in case the luggage needed tweaking, or I needed to order something.
    I had checked the luggage rails before now, only I failed to check the panniers on last time so I did that today. I bolted on and thread locked the pillion foot rests and Givi rails.

    I might just keep the panniers on the bike all week and just put everything in bags, and load and unload that daily, other wise the seat has to come on and off twice daily, if I secure it the way I like it.
    Farted about for a couple of hours, cleaning, checking, polishing,
    I think Im good to go.

    I ride a 2018 Street Twin. Brakes are OK but wanted a bit more stopping power. I have inquired in several past posts on what of brake pad material is used on the stock bike. Funny that no one on this great forum seems to know. Not even my local dealership knows.

    So for the hell of it I purchased a set of EBC double H sintered pads and will be installing them soon front and rear. Hopefully will help, and certainly will not hurt.

    I just hope the stock pads are not already a sintered metal type. Once installed I will post on how they work compared to the stock pads.

    I do find it odd that there are conflicting reports on the braking performance of the twin series bikes. My Street Cup has been run pretty hard on mountain roads since new, so the brakes were burned in pretty aggressively. I can nearly stand this bike on its nose if I want to with the front brake. Makes me wonder if these bikes are particular about how the brakes are bedded in from new.

    Fitted a new (to me) reservoir for my Scottoiler, and new pipework after it. It works now.

    It seems to be a case of .... if in doubt, fit EBC HH sintered pads. I have had them in my Trident 900 for many years and will use them again as replacements when the time comes. They cope well with the bike fully loaded, two up, with loaded top box, panniers and tank bag, wet or dry. Can't ask for more really.:)

    For those who might be interested. I removed my 2018 Street Twin OEM front brake pads this morning and installed the EBC HH sintered pads.

    The OEM pads are Nissin with the part number T0Y0S20CGG. I went on line to see if I could determine what type of pads are used OEM and still found nothing. Part number did not even show up on Nissin's web site. Strange. Maybe a part only sold to Triumph and not for individual sale. Who knows.

    But the best I can tell is that the OEM pads seem to be Nissin's semi-metallic type based on pictures in the Nissin catalog.

    In any event I installed the EBC HH sintered pads on the front (not that hard of a job) and went for a short test ride. There sure is a difference as the sintered pads have more initial bite and stronger braking when compared to the OEM Nissin pads. I will finish the job and install the rear ones soon.

    Had some time out on the Speedy today, went to Glastonbury for the best banoffee pie I know, then on to visit my Sis then to Three cross motorcycles Triumph dealers, about 130 miles total by the time I got home :p

    Took the mirrors off and cleaned the fittings, then greased with copperslip. New lock nuts fitted.

    They fold and adjust nice and smooth now.. They were very grindy before, and I couldn't get them adjusted exactly where I wanted them.

    I hesitated to put that... Wondered about crudgy... Debated on graunchy and gnashy, but settled on grindy.

    Grindy was the best choice. Graunchy would have been okay as well but is probably slightly rougher. Discuss!

    Agreed. Graunchy is course and maybe juddery, Grindy is smoother than Graunchy by a ratio of 1:3 +/- %20 at 15"C

    Mother’s Day and pouring with rain, so fitted my new replacement horn. Much more substantial, although I do not use it much, it will get attention when needed.:cool:
