Any lube that was in the switch may not be there now after spraying with WD40. If you didn’t relube the switch internals you may end up with a dicky switch in a few months time
With the cold weather there’s not been much riding, so I’ve done the next best thing. Buy more bike parts of course! Just got the last bit in, Motone big finned exhaust clamps for the LC twins. Here’s a pic comparing them with oem clamps, something I’ve not seen and will give a good idea of the difference. I also added the Motone tail tidy and I will give a more thorough review with pics when it stops bloody raining!
Good to see that Motone found a better screw type, size and location for these fins. I also bought a set for my 2011 Bonnie a few years back, and they were near impossible to remove after a couple of years of usage. The screw was practically baked into place, and the tiny and fiddly hex slot took next to nothing to wear out. Something to be aware of. These were the culprit:
They have designed the new ones for the LC bikes to fit and bolt on exactly like the oem units. No fiddly Allen’s to mess with. Took longer to get the tools out than it did to install. Uses the factory hardware, that’s it.
Roger that. I'm ultra impressed by your self restraint - good man! REALLY looking forward to seeing it in the super-shiney, full-house, ready to ride state!
You wanna see my garage .... my daughter moved back in ... to the house obviously, it's just all her crap is cluttering up my garage
Had a 190 mile ride up to Newcastle today. A mercy mission for Diiligaf. Out for a couple of pints tonight before heading home tomorrow. It rained most of the way, hey ho. The LT is absolutely filthy, still it will wash up clean when I get home. Wessa
Lads are almost as bad guys, my son lives with his mother but he's still managed to fill his old room here with stuff, last week he needed to move in his musical gear, guitars, feck off big amps, peddle board etc, no room in the bedroom so that's taking up half my fricken lounge, love him to bit's though. Anyway, back to the thread, the new seat cowl arrived for my Speedy yesterday and today I called Staffordshire Triumph and ordered a Street triple headlight subfame for a headlight conversion on her
Went out for a quick hour run before it starts raining again. All the new bits I’ve installed this winter are working well. I promise pics as soon as I can get some decent ones! One problem I have is an oil leak that has appeared recently, at about 5k miles I’ve developed an oil leak somewhere on the bottom of the sump. Not changed the oil lately or touched anything oil related. Is it possible for the filter to start leaking as time passes? I haven’t touched anything yet, but was thinking of going ahead and doing an oil change and really checking everything out. Any other areas to look for possible known oil leaks? It is still under warranty.
De-glazed the front discs as they were a bit grabby, hopefully get out later to bed them in. Been looking at a set of High compression pistons for the Speedmaster take it up to 10.8; Is it worth it for £250?
Had a job in Caversham - (see how I avoided mentioning w*rk?) so a run up past Henley on Thames to the H Cafe for lunch.
