If you've not already been, the Sammy Miller museum, 30 mins from Beaulieu at New Milton is well worth a visit, I rode there last summer and Sammy was messing about with an old trials bike in the courtyard.

Not sure. In the past I've used ArmorAll and similar as it looks nice when you've just washed the bike, only to regret it first time out when braking. You might try the cleaning side of a two part leather treatment depending on the ingredients. Some I've tried on my jacket leave a slightly oily residue which takes a bit of effort to wipe off but it leaves a clean and slightly matt surface ready for the conditioner/polish stuff to go on. Otherwise see if you have a local auto upholstery places that might have some suggestions? Worth a try.

 

Seat material?

 

I use industrial type hand wipes to clean my seat, they work a treat though they wouldn't condition.

Use armoral , wipe as much off as you can with a clean dry cloth, cotton is recommended, then with a cloth dampened with Metholated spirits wipe lightly , all surface oils should now be cleaned off, if not quite use candle wax to give dry grip you want back .
I learnt this with my 94 trident I bought new and kept in as near new condition, sold it after doing 161,000 klms over 7 years. I used armoral on the engine paint finish Too, vinyl based.

Don’t bother draining the fuel. You can use some of it for cleaning the chain and greasy areas.

 

Finally took my Newchurch seat to Autoretrim at Halesowen for sorting out, looking forwards to getting it back, if it's half as good as Gazzatriumphs seat I'll be happy!

 

I've read many times that you shouldn't use petrol to clean chains as it is far too penetrating and will have an adverse affect on your chains lubrication.

Probably true. Then again, I never douse an o ring chain but rather soak a chunk of old towel to do the gross decontamination of external side plates.......before using WD40 and a brush. But with a tank of domestic kerosene that is my usual solvent...

 

First job will be to remove all the warning stickers, looks to be a 6 hour job judging by the amount on the tank!

Replaced a broken fly screen on my street triple R and removed the ugly Givi tank bag mount.

I’ll be looking to purchase a good quality tyre pressure gauge tomorrow and getting all the checks done

 

Doing my own 12,000 mile service at present, I might be up to £75 in parts (mainly fluids).

Completed the “Ride Forever Silver Course” today. Great knowledge refresher and picked up some good safety skills. More the 300km of group riding linked by intercom around some great country side.
I can complete the Gold course later this year which will give me a discount on our horrendous annual registration (NZ$1200) which is mainly accident coverage for old buggers banging themselves up on overpowered bikes

Fitted a set of Hagon 2810's to my Speedmaster and getting prepared (eating a full English) to fit a set of YSS PD valves to forks today.

 

Will be fitting some Hel brake lines to my Speed Triple and also my mates YZS600 tomorrow

I went for a carbon look with the red connectors

 

Top tip. Wet the inside with fluid before u assemble them.Stops air bubbles adhering.
