Doing what all triumph owners should be doing!!!! Riding it, just been to the Original Tea Hut in Epping Forest loads of bikes, surprising how many were triumph? Bit misty on way in around 11.30 ish but bootiful going home at 2.00pm BWT.
Got the t'bird out of her bubble and went for a really enjoyable ride today. The roads were very dry and the sun was shining. I had not ridden her for about 10 weeks, I had forgot how comfortable and fun she can be....... called in at Bill Smiths for a burger and cup of tea before heading for home. Yesterday on the speedmaster and today on the t'bird, life is just about perfect! Wessa
had a ride out to my daughters place ( delivery boy ) and back home , nice . was going to wash the bike but sprayed her witj fs365 instead , must be another ride coming !!
'kin 'ell Steve, I'm not that far from you and the weathers been shite here and I know you're not that righteous that the light shines on you. It aint fur.
Took the carbs off the Speedmaster to fit a set of Thruxton needles, fit finger adjustable idle mixture screws and allen screws in place of star ones. All from Squaredeals uk.
Sadly not much.... Was going to ride down to Henley-on-Thames today but we have people coming for dinner and the day has just run away and I’ve now not got the time, so a bit pissed off.
Managed to get Mrs Dartplayer out for her first ever bike ride. First pillion ride for speedy so adjusted preload to 7 (normally 3 for me at 110kg) and remounted the seat. She was a bit tentative, but loved the experience and the “you can go anywhere you want” with a bike. Made my day that we may have something to share
Took Doris out for a quick spin yesterday, hadn’t used her for a few weeks, month? And she sparked up straight away, nice dry roads, warm and empty. Love it!!
Need to get down to the nail bar for a manicure..... Just spent a happy hour wiping down the T100 with WD40 and kitchen roll to ward off the condensation that forms in my garage over winter. Chipped my nail varnish something rotten.....
Hmmmm...... Callumity, before you put fresh nail varnish on, consider a rethink on the WD40, please. It's not the best stuff to use even as a displacer and, as it's actually hygroscopic, it won't offer any medium to long term benefit. Most people seem to be going for ACF50 and I've been using that for some time, but an acquaintance on another forum has recently advised of a purportedly even better product :- I know this may seem like heresy, but I've started using XCP Rust Blocker. It performs far better than ACF-50 in tests: https://www.bennetts.co.uk/bikesoci...-xcp-rust-blocker-corrosion-protectant-review. so I'm going to give that a try once my current stash of ACF has been depleted. Ulltimately your call, of course, but has to be worth considering. Regards, Adie p.s. went through Biggar last week. What's the deal with what looks like a bonfire outside the town hall?
I have no illusions about the long term efficacy. I was cleaning the chain and rear rim and got carried away. My ACF50 gurgled its last so it was a clean down before a squirt of my last FS365. Must try your XCP. The bonfire? Biggar has a mega bonfire every Hogmanay - normally takes the paint off the Corn Exchange window frames! http://www.biggarbonfire.org.uk/
Currently having a well deserved Sausage sarny n a brew after getting the Daytona 1000 started. Not touched it since bloomin August which is a bad show! Had to refresh my crap memory on the wiring of the fan switch but thats sorted & it now works. The old gal put up a fight as normal! The 2 fuel pipes split where they attach to the tank which was just great. She actually fired up at 3rd prod so chuffed with that & settled pretty quick to a nice tick over. Replacing the jets last year must be helping. Now i gotta get back outside as SWMBO says i stink of Shells finest. Dunno what the problem isheehee
You know you've got it right when the other half says: "We need to do a food shop, so why don't you go out for a ride whilst I go to Tescos?" (and isn't being sarcastic). Bit grey but bonneville still relatively clean!
