Heli coiled one of the cam cover threads on my Sprint after it let go yesterday. The ensuing oil leak made a smoke trail worthy of the Red Arrows! I've checked the others just in case and they are all fine (hopefully). Just waiting on a clutch cable as mine is starting to fray at the clutch end. Ordered one from Square Deals who managed to send me one for a Tiger!

They are one of the easiest to shoot.[/QUOTE]
Grouse? Easy to shoot? Ever tried? They are harder than partridge which are harder than pheasant.......
Me? Never tried. Too tight, too expensive! Don’t own a grouse moor.

Can I ask the make of the stand and is it easy to operate by one person?

Not as much as I’d originally planned. New battery fitted cos the old one was on its way out:confused: but was hoping for a good long ride as the weather is good. MIL had a fall on Monday and busted her ankle and face so I’m waiting for a phone call from FIL to help get her home from hospital, she’s 80 and he’s 87 so can’t cope on their own. They do plenty for us so the sacrifice is worth it, gives me chance to polish the bike after the clean it got the other day:rolleyes:

Here it is, great lift easy to operate but you do need the frame to run under the bike, had mine for around 3 years now

Re-fitted the re-mapped ECU (Hilltop Motorcycles) to the Thruxton R today :):yum:):yum:) Noticable increase in torque & power. Still a little bit shunty round town on minimal throttle opening (particularly in Sport mode). Beautiful day, so went for a bimble & a Blat around the North Essex countryside. Early days but fuel consumption better by about 4 mpg.

If it’s anything like my speed trip it’ll get better with a few miles on. ;)

Llandrindod Wells to Newtown road is a cracker:grinning:, but I've only ever done it in the car: unamused:.
Can recommend the steak pies from Bob the Butcher in Rhayader though:yum. Beautiful!!:yum:yum (Shop is on the right just before the road - B4518 - drops down and away out towards the Elan Valley.)

Went for an early morning ride yesterday morning, came home to do some chores round the house. Decided to go out again in the afternoon, went to the garage to get the bike out and it had a nice flat front tyre.
Went to the local bike shop by car coz I didnt fancy risking the bike tyre going down , they couldnt do it there and then so booked it in for this morning. The bike shop is less than a mile away so pumped the tyre up and rode it there as i didnt fancy the push.
Had a call mid morning, there are some cut marks on the tyre looks like someone had been using a blade on the sidewall. The cuts dont go thru the wall but the shop said it was not possible to repair so having to pay for a new tyre , ouch 170 quid all in, and now waiting for the call to pick it up.

Have they got the Newtown by-pass finished yet? Not been able to get there this year but they were well on with it last year - and plenty of mud on the road as well:eek:. Hopefully next year! We stay around Llanbister when we invade the area. Very pleasant.
