 NUDGER is a bastid to work on
Got myself a borrowed  LED trailer light cluster from work and set about trying to get it to work from NUDGERS electrical system
Have had to remove the whole rear light/number plate assy to get at the wiring :(
First of all I identified the earth on NUDGER which is BLACK
The earth on the trailer lights is white
Now comes the clever bit :grinning:
I know the wiring colours for the trailer lights but not for NUDGER :(
So I got two sewing needles from wor lass and attached one to the white earth on the trailer lights and stabbed it into NUDGERS earth wire :imp:
Then took an educated guess and using the other needle attached it in turn to the wires on the trailer lights
By stabbing the wiring on NUDGER and turning the ignition on I have identified all the wiring and have it marked up with masking tape :grinning:
I’ve said it before...bloody wiggly amps is the work of the devil :imp:
I’ll get there in the end...hopefully

How about www.electrexworld.co.uk ? I had a stator and a reg/rec from them for my Daytona 955i which worked out much cheaper, even when fitted by a Triumph dealer, than genuine Triumph parts alone!

Behind the right hand side casing on my Tbird is a 5 pin plug that feeds the rear electrics on my bike, so was easy to identify using pretty much the same as you did, only difference mine was a test light with a needle sharp end and a crocodile clip to earth. just sliced each wire from there to my own plug direct to trailer plug.

Went to Triumph M40 today, as I was removing my helmet another chap was just leaving, he misjudged something and dropped his 18 plate Explorer at a standstill...he was not happy at all.
Three of us rushed over to lift the bike off his leg, as we get it upright he throws his Shoie helmet on the floor, smashing the visor and destroying the voice coms thing. He swings a kick at the bikes nose and cracks the lens. Actually not swearing or getting verbal, just all "I bloody hate bikes, I don't feel safe!" Turns out he has been riding only three years, said he never felt right or safe. Spent a fortune on the 18 plate Explorer with all the optional extras, his kit was top line and the helmet too
The bit that boiled my piss was that the only damage to the bike from the fall was a surface scrape on the engine case, a scruff on the handle bar guards and a scratche on the rear pegs. His kick to the bikes lights would cost £400 in parts (all single unit) his helmet was shattered as it was a full on slam onto the concrete and the Comms system cost goodness what.
He left the bike there and said he would collect later in the week.
I suggested maybe it wasn't the right bike, but he said he had tried others and that was it. I think he was going to sell up and cut his losses:(
I feel for the guy, he had tried, bought all the stuff but biking just isn't for him...at least he had tried I suppose
The bike only had 2,000 miles on it!

Who wouldn't be angry if that kind of thing happened, and it does, all too often.
But such a public display of boorish behaviour?
I wouldn't be able to show my face there again in anticipation of well deserved ridicule and would have to ask a friend ( if I had any ) to collect it for me.
He needs to take a review of his interests.

Well to me I’d say the bike wasn’t to blame, it was daylight so the lights weren’t at fault, no passenger so the comms weren’t at fault and you can’t really Blame the helmet unless it weighed a ton and made everything too heavy. What was at fault? The rider? Maybe he should have just run headfirst into a brick wall, that would have punished the appropriate party!
Where did you say he was selling his bike?

Well what can I say, it works. Im 5'11" and the oem flyscreen just diverts air under my chin and at higher speeds creates tremendous turbulence and shoulder checks on the motorway mean you can feel your helmet trying to lift so i took it off. This seems to move the air up a bit higher but does not create the turbulence at all. There is almost no air pressure on your head at motorway speeds and I'm sure if I had managed to get to a track and reached 3 digit speeds there would have been no neck strain either :p . I went for a quick travel around some of my favourite A and B roads yesterday afternoon and the situation was the same, much less neck / head pressure and fatigue.
Having said all that I am still not won over by the looks ( i dont like the oem flyscreen either ). I dont think it will go in the bin but I'm still not convinced to leave it on or take it off and use it as a long trip only fitment.

Was out today with a bunch of French lads - ex & current racers (one did the Paris Dakar last year !!!) of bikes and cars - for about a 4 hr ride then lunch.

It was an absolute hoot listening to these lads recounting what they've got up in the past.

Real dyed in the wool biking fiends and very welcoming.

So I've got a little job to do this week - @Col_C anything in particular I have to take into account? Or is it just plug and play? I'd appreciate any tips.
