Looked at installing the Oxford hotgrips this morning, took them out if the packaging and there is a whole rat's nest of wires
I will need to shorten them and use bullet connectors as there isn't room to hide the wires anywhere.
Will try again tomorrow and Sunday when I have more time

Hopefully have it sorted before I head out on Monday to .... work;)

Installed the Oxford heated grips on my Speed Triple R, and put the Puppy Grips back on.
I found a small space down the side of the battery to tuck the wires in. Used shrink wrap over the connections.
Tested and put everything back together.
The real test will be my commute into London tomorrow morning.

I’ve got it on a fb page, but not pushing it hard... a guy offered to swap a Suzuki 1800 cruiser for it... but that and a chancer on eBay were the only 2. I”m struggling for space, but I’d rather hold onto both bikes than give it away... it’s a nice ride and I don’t have to take it out in the shitty weather now

I’ve seen this mod before, what is the reasoning behind doing it? I haven’t figured that out yet.

One of the main reasons is to keep the Caliper away from all the muck and water from the road so I’ve read it’s certainly easier to change the pads where it is mounted

I managed to change the oil and seal in the left fork leg today. Then I went to remove the right one but the top clamp bolt was having none of it! It decided to round off and not come out so I tried a T45 torx bit and that will not undo it either. It will tighten but not go the other way. So short of drilling it I am at a loss to know what to try next. Any ideas?

Make a cup out of blue tack and fill with penetrating fluid and leave as long as you can, keep topping up.

They would except the head is flush with the clamp :(. I think I will buy a new Torx bit, as it will be sharper, and if that fails I will either drill the head out or cut the thread in the space in the clamp.

Does that mean you need a new clamp assembly. Before you do that see my earlier post.
