I can remember when I first got into biking (Yes, I can remember back that far Crispey) you used to clean your chains with paraffin, wait for it to kind of dry then drop the chain into a special metal tub filled with solidified grease then literally boil it up on the cooker. I always waited til the house was empty to do it but the smell used to last days. The chain once the grease had turned back to it`s solid state meant that you could bend it 90 degrees & because it was so well covered it would stay there. Tried it once in later years with a O ring chain...Bugger, forgot how sensitive those o ring seals were...oh well...new chain please

I once used our oven to bake on some ceramic paint I had sprayed on a manifold. You aren’t a real petrolhead till you have weathered the grief from the missus for such transgressionso_O

You seem to suggest that age is the reason for bad driving, I’m 70. I’ve experienced poor to reckless driving of all ages and genders. The idiot who cut you off has probably been a selfish and self important driver his whole life regardless of age.

Nick Hall and I rode over from Bedford to All Seasons Cafe at Billing this morning for the annual Chilly Willy charity ride in support of Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance. Tea and scones before 12 noon-ish depart on a 42 mile figure of eight circuit back for another cuppa before we then had a nippy ride back on the country lanes and B roads. Conditions weren't too bad once the sun got on the roads but some parts stayed shady so frosty stretches in places all day long. As we were turning in on the way in a lad on a Ninja lost his back wheel and ended sideways to the road less one indicator stalk. And blimey that low sun was a bit of a blinder.

150 bikes last year. Looks maybe 200 this. Nick and I had already ridden past before this videoist got to her camera position - bah!

Took my girl out this weekend, first time since July 2017, not the greatest of roads to ride on, ice, cold, but she enjoyed herself
