Don't think its anything to do with the rake,my Harley has about the same rake and it always feels planted and handles great for a cruiser. If the new tyres don't improve things you should try and get a test ride of another Speedmaster just to compare. hopefully it's just the tyres:)

Been on the CMC Claycross Children in Need ride out to BBC radio Derby. Met some great people including a couple of Triumph Tiger riders.

Spent the morning cleaning and lubing the chain and then fitted a flyscreen and relocated the ignition! I still don’t understand why triumph put it down on the left hand side as standard!!!

Here’s a couple pics of the results...

Very nice Matt, the bike is "lookin' good". I particularly like the ignition relocation.

What have I been doing with my bike today. Mainly I have been drinking "Chimay" a Belgian trappiste monk brown beer - at 9% !!!!

Consequently not too much with the bike :D:D:D:D:D

    Looks good.
Did you use a kit to relocate the ignition or DIY ?

:):)Spent the morning checking over tyre pressures, chain tension, lights, brakes, reinstalling the battery, et cetera.:):)
:) Off to Glasgow in the morning for a couple of days,:) I have a ticket for the Waterboys at the Armadillo,:) tomorrow night. Staying over to see a little of Glasgow:).The weather looks ok, could be better, could be worse.I still dont know which route to take, Fort William or Glen Shee, the main road has just gone "Average Speed Crazy " so Im one of those being forced on to the back roads, the exact opposite of why the motorways were built.:):):)

Moving the ignition was on my list of mods but it gradually moved down the list. I'm not sure I'm going to bother now, I'm now so used to where it is that moving it would probably annoy me

Had a go on "Doris" - very nice I must say and the exhausts are much quieter when you're on it!

Just got home. Bike was faultless again, I ended up going down through Braemar, to Glasgow and back up the A90, which is now alive with average speed cameras
.They must have dropped the speed of the road by 15 mph and because everyone is so unsure they end up slowing every time they see one coming up which does take some getting used too when the car in front looses power every 3 miles.
Great concert , The Waterboys good stuff realy.
I got completely turned around in Glasgow, on a couple of occasions and I have revised my opinion on SatNav. IMG_20171024_203746341.jpg IMG_20171024_133350312_HDR.jpg

See is a very dirty girl.

Going to start stripping her I think, I want to send off the rear shock to get rebuilt,Any recommendations or warnings please, then powder coat the swingarm, new bearings, rebuild the hub, and rebuild the forks,as they are, I think ,with just a slightly heavier oil, all being well.

So I started tearing down the back end today, with mixed results, the chain is kaput and the swingarm does not need the bearings done, the shock should get sent off tomorrow, and the rear tyre is past it, IMG_20171026_111636153_BURST000_COVER_TOP.jpg
the sproket is realy good, shame cos I will replace with chain

I said she was dirty and thats the second wash since yesterday!

One for crispey. Put this B&W version of the above pic on Instagram and it got a like from Classicbike Raisch - a German company who specialise in customising and tuning Thruxton's, Bonneville's and BMW R9T's.
So Doris has made an impact in BMW land! :):)

    New tyre today. IMG_20171027_151142475.jpg

After phoning around and talking to 3 or 4 shock builders /suppliers. I found that ,
    My shock is not rebuildable
Hagon and Wilbers seem to be the only ones who make for these.
According to Hagon if the bikes in constant or near constant use there no reason the shock wont last 35,000 to 40,000 miles,( so I dont need a new one)
    :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

    So mine got a make-over
