Had a nice run up to goresbridge and New Ross yesterday. The weather was perfect.
The air was still warm at 9.30pm
I even popped into lidl for some summer outfits

Not strictly to do with my Triumph, but in my village today there is a local club's annual get-together with a lovely assortment of classic cars and bikes :

    Starting with a BMW outfit:

    P1050673.JPG

Next, a beautiful Peugeot 504 Coupe:

Then a VW Kharmen Ghia :

    Here's a French 'Blérot' outfit :

    Several Citroën Traction Avant :

Then a very special Peugeot 604 "Chapron" with a fabulous interior :

and this is where President Mitterand used to sit :

:( Saddened to learn that some of you on here would think that I could tell porkies and use a staged photograph.....OK....OK...knewthat I couldn't get away with it :p
On a more serious note though I have been doing rallies for over 25yrs now and I should of had a trailer for every one of them
I really didn't feel it affecting my speedmaster at all...just hitch up and forget!!
Was really worried about Sutton Bank both up and down in case it pushed me in the corners....never felt a thing
Some lad at the rally said bloody hell mate I didn't know Triumph had started making trailers I'll have to get one for my Thunderbird ....he walked away before I could tell him
Couple in the next tent turned up on a speedmaster same model as mine and loaded so high you couldn't see his Mrs !
Asked me if I could make him one but I politely declined :relieved:
Told him about this forum and he said that he'd have a look and probably join...result eh?
Oh yeah before I forget I took it upto 95mph on a clear stretch of the A19 on the way home :pWHOOP WHOOP

Great well done marra, it does make it so much easier and allows you to take a few more home comforts and Beer (though not your living room lol )
What a weekend of weather you all had, must have been a scorcher, Helmsley must have been packed on the Saturday and that's a great site to see its magical and funny at the same time, when you see the tweed set coming into what is usually a very quiet village and being met with such a sight lol

Was in the square having a beer as you do when this fellow in a Bentley pulls in with his Mrs and his or her elderly parents, the look of horror and bewilderment  was an image I won't forget for a long time :grinning:

Gonna have to admit to bringing about a third of my beer home but that's because it was as hot as a cuppa after I left it in the tent while I was drinking in Helmsley :(
    Urrgh....hot beer  no thanks
Did force down half a bottle of hot Jack Daniels though :p
It was a struggle but I got there in the end

    Knockhill Brittish Superbikes.
Left at 5.10am by the time I farted around at the bike then away to,Huntly then Ballater Braemar and down over the Glenshee Ski Centre. The weather was fantasist, the traffic, light When I came up behind my first car I looked down to see 112 miles on the trip monitor( all you southeners Honest its true)

Got there about 9am after stopping for breakfast.set tent and drank beer got sunburned and transfixed by the WP_000783.jpg smooth calm of these Rocket Jockies WP_000786.jpg WP_000794.jpg

Well worth every penny they realy put on a show. I left early on the Sunday, the weather was perfect and I needed to get home for the dog and work in the morning.
Run home was fantastic more enjoyable than watching others ride, came home up the main road quiet and free flowing all the way so made good time. best bit was getting on to my familiar roads when you have warmed up yourself and the bike.
Only down side is when they get you in these places they know how to charge. 1050 was faultless.
I took loads of phots cant find em.

Track days are a little to much of a stretch, they would take up to much time realy, obviously Id love to try it, some day.

Well I've just been out on a blistering hot day, watching incompetent car drivers on narrow lanes is jaw dropping... seriously, how do some get licences???

Anyway, surviving the pillocks, I've been enjoying some of the finest scenery given to this fair isle...

Today is the day that my Triumph Daytona 955i passes onto a new owner. Why is this an occasion? I've (rarely) sold bikes before, I usually run em till they're dead. I've never actually sold a bike in good condition in all my 20 years on the road - even the California went largely because to put it how I'd want it would require more commitment than I had.

The Triumph is different. It is a great bike. There's nothing wrong with it, except me. And I feel I've failed, in a way.

Many years ago I said "I'm never having a full faired bike again, I'm never having a watercooled bike again", but I got the R6 so I wasn't running my beloved Moto Guzzi Griso as often or as hard. Then I decided to trackday it and... yeeeeaahhh. But I only got a 600 because I felt my old FZR1000R was too much for the road. Thats also why I got the Benelli Tornado, its a perfect halfway house between the 600 and a full-on 4 cylinder litrebike.

And the Daytona is, its smooth, torquey and handles great since I had the suspension set up. There's literally nothing wrong with it, I just haven't connected with it.

So, for me this is a sad day. I don't care about the money I've lost on it, just that I didn't meet the bike's expectations. And I say again, I'm never having a full faired or watercooled bike again, not for the road at least. Watch me eat these words, 10 years down the line.

So farewell, Daytona. Enjoy your new home.

Well, I did offer to trade it for a Daytona 650 at Staffs Triumph but they only offered me 2200.

    I bought from a dealer for 3200, going for 2765 :/
