Road 189 miles today. With Privateer starting from Pure Triumph Woburn and back again via Webbs Peterborough, lunch at The Iron Horse Market Deeping (where we bumped in to a pile of mates from Oakley MC), Pure Triumph Wellingborough and the Salcey Forest. Highlights the Kimbolton Road as usual and down the Uppingham to Caldecot fast twisity side of the Welland Valley, both favourite roads. Dropped off HTOC flyers and OMC magazines at the dealerships. Photo's of two ends of the spectrum - the Daytona at Wellingboro' shipped back from America to where it had been accessorised and treated to a special paint job, and young Bradley's rat bike at Tony's having two of my cabled ties added to hold the rear fender in place.
You're right, they normally would, but I raised the bike (hence the need for these, actually). Got extra long rear shocks from TEC, and have height adjusters in the front. I always felt a bit cramped sitting on the Bonneville. These alterations have completely transformed the bike.
Have been out "testing" on a favorite back road to fine tune suspension up front. The KTECH internals we installed on my 16 Speed Triple S make such a difference and I am making some incremental adjustments in rebound to mitigate any possibility of stacking. Slow process yet I love this road so making progress and having fun. Being a hoon has never been such fun .
Just got this forĀ£20 Locked and no keys Went to Halfords but unable to help Never mind I'll sort it somehow Mate at work is a locksmith Next a set of wheels off fleabay Project trailer is looking good Oops forgot the picture DOH! Here it is
Quite a regular run out this pne for the Bonnie, the colours of the sea are amazing as is the road that separates the sea from the fresh water on Slapton line.
I use my phone on the bike for music and with a paid app Satnav and was looking around for a new holder and came across these holders: http://www.twistyride.com/motorcycle-iphone-holder/Waterproof-iPhone-Case.html The quality is really good, waterproof and the case and holder arrived within 2 days. You get all the necessay Ram mounts and it feels solid when fitted. First run out today and it worked well and no vibration.
Met up with Paul and figwold at J&S in Finedon (they'd already done a long breakfast run) then went hooligan over back roads over to Oundle and Uppingham, up and down the Welland Valley through the viaduct. Managed to find and track the only rain cloud in the East of England. Waved at the old men sitting outside HD dealer in Uppingham. Tea and cake underneath Rockingham Castle, courtesy of figwold, and nice fast-ish ride home on the A509 and A428. Saw lots of bikes out in and around Rutland. Home in time to catch United at Spurs. Shudda stayed out.
The breakfast run being to the Super Sausage at Pottersbury. As always seems to be the case here, a complete waste of time if you are expecting food. How it is as popular as it clearly is I don't know, because it's always impossible to actually buy any food before you die of waiting in the queue. To be fair they did have an excuse today, with a calumny of scooters, all blinded up to the nines ... Oh and a R3 too...
The photo of Twiggy on the combination takes me back to my mod days Martin. I used to go out with a girl who was the spit of her. I see Paul was suitably pissed off missing his breakfast.
Oh Rich, what a loss! Yes, he was like a bear with a sore head today sadly. Even though I bought him half a KitKat as a make-do.
Some nice scooters there................. I particularly like the blue and white Lambretta SX200 centre of picture 7 (rider has a yellow yellow helmet) and the turquoise Lambretta GP200 bottom left. Thanks for posting the pics!
