What a fabulous day to be out on a bike, dry, bright sunshine and just a touch of crispness in the air.

Visited Crofton Beam Engine near Burbage in Wiltshire. This is a steam powered water pumping station for the Kennet and Avon canal established in 1812....and its still running today.....a ton of water is lifted and dumped into the canal on every stroke of the beam engine......you can actually feel the walkway around the engine vibrating with the torque as the piston pulls up the water......if you are a steam fan get yourself along there for the Easter W/E......they are in full steam on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Then onto Uffington White Horse Hill to enjoy the view across the Vale.....and this was the very spot where I launched my dads ashes skyward as per his dying request.....'boy, when I die, cremate me and load my ashes into a big rocket and launch me off of the top of Uffington White Horse Hill!'......well, in January it's not that easy to buy a great big rocket....but hey ho......a friend 'knew a man' and I bought the biggest rocket he had.....emptied out about half the filling in the head and filled up the space with as much 'of dad' as I could cram in there!!.....probably about a legs worth!.........gotta admit.....it looked spectacular, late on a cold January night when I launched him off!.....well, that's another 100 off of the Bobbers running in very pleasurably accomplished..... At that price, it'll be a big saving on new for someone.

Out of interest, does the low boy Arrow come with a removable baffle?

My Speed Triple R got carrier away to the garage for its repairs to mudguard, radiator, oil cooler and one of the suspension after postman pat cut across me, it may be two weeks before the repairs can be done as they are so busy.

    Brakes.
Rear pads fitted, have to take the bike to pieces to do it!!! Seat off, panniers off just to get access. Caliper all cleaned up, opened bleed nipple and pushed pistons in (didn't like to risk it again:rolleyes:), and pads fitted. EBC to match the front.
Then refitted pad spring to the front caliper, had neglected to after all the hassle I had with them. But on a slow egg run yesterday and could hear them rattling about:(, so that needed sorted.

Took a run down to Plymouth Barbican(old harbour area) for a Capt. Jaspers burger, lot sof bikers hang out there. Came across police and a couple of bikes strewn across the road on a particularly nasty bend on the way. Still ambulance and police there 2.5 hrs later, looked to be a lot af claret on the road. Hoping for the best fearing the worst, with the great weather a lot of bikes being dusted off after winter lay ups makes it inevitable I guess. Go steady out there!

On the news later that day, a 2 bike crash on the A6 just south of the town, 1 rider R.I.P.

well on my way to meet Mr Lovatt and family I took the risk of being shot by a farmer and adding to my hayfever suffering and had aphoto op that couldnt be missed.
Apologies to farmers worldwide but i didnt ride the bike in and made sure my exhaust had cooled down a bit and kept within the tracks already laid down
