    Hi Mr O,

......yes, on the V5 it is listed as a Bonneville Bobber.....just as Thruxtons 12 or R are listed as Bonneville Thruxton or Thruxton R and they are in their own Thruxton sub set of their own in the Classics section of the Forum.

I don't know who Rob is, please,......pretty please, will you talk nicely to him about this for me?......I see there is now a new 'Political' section opened........and I have read that the Forum will and has to change as new folk come onboard, I guess it will have to also change as new bikes come onboard.

Thank you for any help you can provide with my request.

    Cheers,

    dickydido

    Hi Winglad,

.....sadly, it's all down to us blokes..........'this darling, is what 6'' looks like.....fnurrrrr, fnurrrrr!......so when you are out driving our great big SUV on the school run or your Porsseco morning with the girls, make sure you leave yourself plenty of room, 'cus if you scratch it or prang it I'll go bleedin' ballistic!'........

    Cheers,

    dickydido

    Hi Rich,

.....and Ade by the sound of all the 'short arse' stick that is sent his way!.......

I remember watching a documentary on the tv a few years ago about a worker on one of the assembly lines in the BMW car factory.....showed him going off to work early in the morning on his R75......he walked outside to get on his bike and being such a short arse he actually stood on one of the cylinders so he could swing his leg over the seat.......

......makes you wonder if BM's were designed with sticky out pots deliberately so all short arsed Germans could get on them and had nothing to do with primary engine balance factors at all!!........

    Cheers,

    dickydido

    .........

Well the fitting depends upon the screen. I have a Madstad which I think is excellent. It seems a bit weird to be looking through rather than over the screen (mine is a 20" screen) but I ride up to 45-50 without needing to put my visor down, and at any speed the turbulence around the helmet disappears.

Fitting: In my case (with a Madstad) it was really simple:

1 do you need the Madstad off-Road brace? Strictly no, as it doesn't impact the fitting of the SatNav, but the comments on the Tiger 800 forum suggested that it helps to stabilise both the screen and the SatNav, so I added it too.

2 RAM-B-272U mount attaches to one of the screws/bolts for the Madstad mounting bracket

3 RAM mount from TomTom Rider 410 then does the rest. A simple standard RAM mount double socket arm and the mounting plate for your SatNav.

    So just three RAM elements.

Must have been a couple of short-arsed Germans out and about yesterday when figwold and I were visiting Flitwick Motorcycles and Pure Triumph Woburn. 1960 and 1976 Beemers and a 1978 Honda CB750.

Took the Thunderbird for an MOT today.
Sadly it failed on the rear tire being squared off and below 1 mm.
So new tyres ordered but can't get them fitted till Tuesday.
So no bike over the weekend till that's sorted.
Going for a nice new pair of Avon Cobras. Getting rid of the OEM ones at last.

    Today I are mostly irritated.

Not only is the sun shining but the wind has dropped and it's warmer than it has been for a while. An ideal day for a ride but unfortunately life has other plans for me.

Instead of going out on the bike I have to go and pick up my daughter and my new granddaughter and drop them off at her Mums. Then later this afternoon I have to take the girlfriend to the station, she's off to some concert or other tonight in Nottingham.

    Same here!
    Great wx today!
Had to take the XJR though. She felt quite neglected...
Went into the hills and it was great driving.
Now she sits in front of her 'hangar' and cools down :)

Something else I discovered this morning: try and take a pic of your bikes from above!
    Totally new perspective...

well I did my bimble today. left home at around 10:45 and headed off to the apache cafe by some very interesting roads, theres a lot of grit on them country roads!! Met Mr Lovatt for lunch then followed him down towards winchester-ish where we parted and I carried on Bimbling. got to Loomies for tea, looked at my watch and it was nearly 5 so didnt stop in the end and bimbled home. arrived at around 6:40, 187 miles later luvvly jubbly

Took the Street Cup out for an afternoon ride in the sunshine. First time for three weeks on the Tiger, and we both loved it.

My how sweet that Bonneville engine sounds. A great and easy bike to ride in town, and so pretty!

Riding back from Blackheath this morning after visiting #1 son*, on my Tiger I 'bumped' in to a really nice looking and sounding blue/white T100, on the M25 just after the M11 junction and waved goodbye when I took the A507 off the A1. KY66MXA, so as a Northampton reg likely Wellingborough or Woburn sourced same as mine and the Bedford rascals I hang around with. Smashing advert for the new Bonnie seeing it doing 70 in the sun.

*btw, tip for dad's out there. Bugger that University crap, send at least one of your kids to catering college. Gourmet meal every time I visit - and lovely rare single malt to wash it down with last night, hence getting my head down on the couch rather than driving back late on as planned.
