Rode the bike from Chester to its new home across the border.
I need a bucket to clean it now. It's fecking filthy.
Another thing I need to buy. Will go get one tomorrow.
Along with a trip to Halfords for cleaning shampoo etc.
Bike did great but all motorway till the A70 to the house.
Don't think I have once traveled the last few miles to Patna.
Need to find the best road once I'm off the motorway.
Just want something after traveling all that way where I can get home asap.

If the house is being scoped
Can't believe police are disinterested. Take friend with you to confirm the tale and demand to speak to a supervisor - threaten civil complaint if nothing happens. If the perps have done it once they'll have done it a dozen times and there may be evidence lying around.

And agree with Tez. Call 999 and report a violent crime in progress. Who's to prove you weren't threatened with physical violence.

On more mundane matters went over to Woburn today to get my Tiger's heated grips fixed under warranty. Met up with figwold collecting his brand new 17 reg Tiger XCa (see pics above). Then we went out adventure riding round the Bedfordshire and Northants country lanes and did some off roading. When I say off roading that's across the grass and gravel car park at J&S Finedon, which is about as much as these two bikes are likely to ever do on purpose.

Put the EBC HH pads back and front in my Bonnie a few months ago and they are good.

Sorry to hear all this Dave.
I cannot believe the Police are so disinterested.
Only one way to go with this then, old school, get some handy mates and go recover your bike by whatever means necessary.

Went to Bill Smiths today for some 15amp fuses as the auxilliery power socket had stooped working. Got home and replaced the fuse only to find that the wire connection at the back of the socket had separated. Smiple task to push it back on and all working again. Just a wasted jounery to Chester and back; still enjoyed the ride.

Remember I had a set of Avon Roadriders fitted the other day? Well I decided to go and scrub them in today. They were quite skittish to start with but began settling in as the miles increased. Anyway I was only going to do a quick half hour and ended up 120 miles and 4 hours somehow I found myself eating a bacon bap at Loomies and chatting to a couple of Bonnie owners. Fantastic ride, only problem was I was only dressed for a short blast, T shirt under the leather jacket and kevlar jeans, I was frozen by the time I got home. still, didnt take the quick route though!!

    Thanks for your messages guys.
This situation has a myriad of ramifications that had never occurred to me before, as in a theft and not an accident. We know the stories that lead us to realise the insurance companies hold all the cards. In taking your premium you find out what they don't want to do for you when the proverbial hits the spinning thing. Spoke to my insurer, MCN, and they don't supply loan bikes for level one cover, that is just for accidents. My son now owns my old F800S Beemer and his company will put me on his policy but on SDP, no commuting. To change his policy will take the premium from around two fifty to eleven hundred pounds. My company won't let me use it on my policy, even though it would be third party only and is included as part of the cover. Now I'm knackered for work! There is also the aftermath of something that I've no control over, I'll probably get loaded on my next policy and they will only assess the value as a stock bike not including the aftermarket bling, which was all declared to them after fitting. Family are all stressed, I'm looking at CCTV systems and baseball bats!
Seems like the way the scroats think, the thieves, may have some credibility. Just keep your money, don't play by the rules and suck it up if things go wrong. Being straight and honest seems freekin' hard work at times.
    Shiny side up lads!

Out and about with w*rk from around 10.00am until 3.45pm on the Tiger. Late lunch at Loomies (sorry I missed you crispey). Lovely Francis-Barnet bike with genuine oil drip!

Looks pretty original, I like the 'may contain nuts' on the rear mud guard!

Well you can see why the Japanese took over the bike industry if you compare that with a like for like Honda of the same year.
Nostalgic yes, lovely ? Definitely not in my opinion.

Nice 60 mile round trip to Harrogate today with the sun shining but still cold.
Lovely country roads but had to be careful with the mud from the tractors and fields, a couple of little rear end twitches, dont think the 'square' tyres help generated from all my motorway riding.
Im going treat her to some new tyres soon, just can't make my mind up which type, Metzelers are on the bike at present, from new I believe.

Sun was out and too good to miss so headed out through the forest and stopped at the old wartime bombing range as Godshill. Took a couple of pics to show off recent add-ons of centre stand, tank knee pads and sump plate, made the mistake of wearing summer gloves so headed over to 3X motorcycles for a warm and a chat. Had a sit on the new bobber, surprisingly light and well balanced and promised to go back for a test ride but with warmer kit. STA60478.JPG STA60480.JPG STA60478.JPG STA60480.JPG

You must have missed me by about 15 mins! That FB arrived while I was there and the oil puddle doesn't look any bigger than it was 2 mins after he arrived. If that's your bike on the edge of pic, that's where I was parked. It was a good vibe at loomies today, a good mixture of bikes and styles and A large percentage of female bikers.
