Bar end mirrors arrived today. Pity my Thruxtons still around at My mates until I secure my garage Doors better.
Had a quick look at whats about for the tank.... Carbon was my initial want.... seems nobody producing for my bike, even if they were i have just read that they are illegal for road use in the UK. Dippings out ( i think ) looks like wrapping as this will be removable and can retain originality if needed. Just need some recomendations Got to be 100% quality, as im a tad fussy Ill update as and when
Just my personal taste mate, but I wouldn't do too much, I like the contast with the yellow and black, if it were me I'd be saying small touches to tie it all in, maybe a couple of pinstripes or something? Subtle and menacing
I too like the yellow, thats why i went for this colour originally, but since adding the carbon today think it clashes........ welcome everyones opinion. there is some black on the tank just bars are covering it in the pic, look at my avatar.
Comparing before and after pics, I think you've done a great job, it looks ace! I would not be in a hurry to do any more, just enjoy it as it is for a while, sometimes less is more!
I think one of these covers and yellow pin stripes on the wheels would look cool. https://conquestcarbon.com/product/triumph-speed-triple-carbon-fibre-tank-battery-cover-gloss/
I took the original pinstriped wheels off in favour of the carbon wheels. The front tank cover is the only thing from cc that I've not bought.... thinking about it though
Well as you know, o went to loomies for a late breakfast today It pissed down as I left home for about 20 mins but after that weather was good so I took the long route home, 2 hrs, total riding time 3 hrs. Got home and saw the state of my bike Thought there's no way I can put it off 2 hours later Still worth it though!!!
Rode over to Northampton this morning with figwold aka Martin and Paul9908 to check out NAM (Northants Advanced Motorcyclists), expecting to join a social ride and each ended up with a 40 mile-ish individual introduction assessment with a National Observer. Enjoyable experience. Think we'll all three sign up.
Çarbs back on. A bit of painting. Just the Coolent system and exhaust system to go then panels and I'm ready for the sun to come out The Indian can have their carpet back when I'm finished
As blue as the bike lol 2nd attempt as it goes not to bad. It was the air filter side that was a pain to be honest . Have just brought a second hand Cam cover as mine has deep scatches on the top. I'm going to either get the new one powder coated or chromed.....was thinking powder coating either silver or blue but it might not look right in blue.....???
Have you thought about anodising ? some nice colours available. Hard anodising is best but you are more limited on colours than the standard anodising.
Just make sure you wipe the worst of the oil stains off mate, that is if you want to dine there again.
Hey Wayne, have you got or thought of putting a bigger front sprocket on 'er, to lengthen the gearing a bit? Easy job and reduces revs when cruising.
