Lucky indeed.... but id rather be lucky than good any-day.;)

Anyway, picked up `the wasp` today. S3 94R in the much faster and sexier racing yellow - hence the name.:)

Rain stopped play unfortunately, but the short ride home was luvverly.

Nice little ride along the Norfolk coast this evening and stopped at Hunstanton for some chips and a cuppa it was bloomin lovely. A few triumph bonnys there of various ages and one chap I got speaking to had made a few changes to his bonny so he could continue riding even with a few ailments, hats off to him.

A simple job made harder. Recently had to take the sissy bar off the bike.
The screws that held it in place had been lock tighted into place which whilst it keeps them in place does make it harder to remove them.
I eventually managed to get them out which resulted in one being totally mangled on the head, with the others showing signs of abuse from getting them out.
So I've replaced them with nice new ones.
Went to screw in the new ones but because of the lock tight, they wouldn't go in smoothly.
Thankfully I have a selection of taps and dies, so I was able to re tap the thread back to M8 standard.
The right tool does the job nicely.
Guys if you do something to your bikes please do it correctly in the first place, don't bodge a solution unless you intend to remedy it rather than leaving it to the next owner.

Whoa, that's a worry but good you got it removed and not have it fall out. I've seen this on a run first hand where a mate's sump plug came out at speed and coated his rear tyre amongst other things, he did well to stay on. Unfortunately the lad behind didn't, he came off on the spilt oil, wrote his bike off and put himself in hospital.

Whew, nasty, doesnt bear thinking about, youre on your line and suddenly there is oil everywhere.

Yes Wayne you had a lucky one there mate,I have in my years as a biker and a printer had both sides of that particular problem. Sometimes the remains can twist out with a finger, sometimes they are a B*****d. Glad yours was the former.

Well said. I hate bodge jobs and I've found a few on various cars I've owned! Thankfully nothing on a bike yet.

I've seen plenty on bikes over the years Steve sadly. To me a bodge is a temporary fix till you can do it correctly.
In my one I'm lucky I have the needed tools, not every one would thou
