We've all done it - especially the kill switch (even worse when you're trying to kick start the bloody thing).

Don't I 'kin well know. Made the same mistake years back with a Honda 250 RS, accidentally hit the kill switch then when I tried to kick it over no go. Struggled for ages then one of my workmates put it back to 'Run'. Bloody embarrassing when some smart @r$e points out your mistake.

Finally got this poor girl ready to ride.. She really needs an engine service and I should get the new headstock bearings in but social needs call me out for a little ride tomorrow to blow out the cobwebs..
It's been nearly a month since I've been out for a ride, been going stir-crazy!

(and today would be the day I develop a honking headcold - sods law, aye?)

Two things; went up to start bike and let it run, I have been keeping the battery in-house and fully charged so connected it up got lights and instruments and heard prime, hit the start heard a pfhit then nothing. disconnected the battery started checking fuses, all good, reconnected battery fired up no bother.

What the dag nabit happened there? Any ideas anyone?

Next thing; got the wheels off. Discs off. Bearings out. done all I can do now till I take wheels and Clutch Casing in to town for powder coatings, standard colour or nearest option, though I have a black casing from a ST on at mo, and I like the look of that.

Took the old girl for a quick thrash,I mean a nice slow ride dear, just enough to get the engine nice and hot and my fingers the exact opposite even with the hot grips on. Got back and looked the bike over, God she was a dirty old girl so I got the bucket and sponge out ( no more Karcher now I live in a flat, grrr) and half an hour later she looks lovely again, well as lovely as a 20 yr old Sprint gets.lol.
Lube the chain and quick check over and back in the garage covered over till next playtime. Happy days

I should be ashamed to admit it but my Speedmaster is suffering neglect. This doesn't mean I don't use it. It has such a good utilitarian feel I just use it. It' will be loved and cared for though, I do do that. Just one of those weird phases.

I'm afraid mine's being a bit neglected as well. It's clean and under a cover in the garage but I haven't even looked at it since October :(
Nearly dragged it out on Saturday but it was so cold I just couldn't do it.
I've got a new rack to fit so it'll be out soon.
Hopefully in a couple of weeks the weather might start to play nice and we can all get out :)
