Yes that's mainly man made stuff on the nursery slope at the moment, last week the mountains were covered in snow but not enough to open the ski runs. but it's been really mild again and unless there's a heavy snowfall it all disappears pretty quick

The weather forecast promised blue skies, so despite the frosty start decided to head up to the Peak District for a days riding. Around lunch when I got up to the higher hills near Flash I suddenly found myself in cloud, that novelty soon wore off so headed back east and down.

From state of bike and me I bet people thought I'd been off-roading :)

Took the R50/5 out for the first time... Aired up the tires and headed to the parking lot for some figure 8's.
Controls work nicely. Gearing is a bit high, carbs are close, clutch is grabby, and the steering is a bit tight, wants to wander. Front suspension and brake are good, rear needs work.
Being my first time out in quite a while, taking it easy was all I cared to do. Overall, it was a draw... we can both use some improvement.

1973 R50/5 Long wheelbase. Not pristine, but nice.

So today's ride was an SV650....had an early, dark start and a cold, slippery test somewhere I have never ridden before....and passed my Mod 2!!! Over the moon!!!:grinning:

Off to work very shortly, just to bring me back down to earth - but at least it's only for half a day!!

In the better weather I polished a few things and made a sprocket cover for my 20 year old Ducati. Plus I managed to cram a pair of F loud air horns and their compressor into the nose of the fairing. Together with camera mounts on all four corners of the bike.

I like that idea for the camera mounting but doesn't the lens pick up crap from the road at that level, especially if it's damp? The answer, I guess, is only to take the bike out on dry, sunny days.

Just checking the tyres on the MV and Ducati that are sat in the garage waiting for some sunshine and a few dry roads when I can get out.

    Well done and hearty congratulations.

When I passed my test in 1970, they just counted your arms and legs. The requisite number gained a pass. :p

    Woop woop, Well done .
Passed mine in 75, even had to bump start my BSA Starfire on the day too coz my kick-start ratchet broke, I asked the test centre first and they said OK.
Wouldn't get away with that nowadays.

Yesterday I took the Tuono up to AP Workshops in Fazeley to replace the clutch master cylinder. No pictures because it was freezing (literally), so much so I had to stop halfway and defrost my fingers...........10 minutes of intense pain as they thawed. Also there is so much crud on the roads bike, self and visor were covered. Bike and self I can deal with but I find vision is quite important on a ride.
Anyway, the master cylinder was replaced and once done the bill was waived :)
