Oh, thanks @Sprinter! Yes it is, the Boxer engines have heaps of character and a nice low centre of gravity.

 

Rode the storm yesterday,before the storm came today

Yes it's very responsive.dynojet,tuned,downgeared,and it's a blast.The best thing is they are a bit of a bargain at the moment

 

Waiting for the rain to stop and the weather to warm up ..till then I'm stuck on 4 wheels ... not that it isn't pleasent

 

Well, for a good while at leas, I think I'm pretty much finished with the mods. Some Oberon performance bar ends went on today as well as a Sargent seat pod, and all I really want to do now is upgrade the rear shock; however, I'll probably try to get a good summer of riding in first and then make a decision. I've also decided to keep the rear subframe on, at least until after a weekend trip planned for May. It was disappointing to learn that the bike without the subframe will only take 8kg of luggage on the rear seat, and I don't really want to faff around removing/replacing it repeatedly.

Anyway, the aggregated list of mods now looks as follows (I'm far too scared to add up what I've spent):
