Took the KTM for its first service today (finally :p) and got thoroughly soaked in the process.
At least I can ride her again now after the 3 week enforced wait.

Dropped off my new 2020 Street Glide Special at the local H-D dealership today to have some engine upgrades (cams, high flow air cleaner, exhaust, tuner) and other customization done. I'm not quite yet able to ride it post-bicycle crash so Mr. Sandi rode it there for me. In the meantime I've been planning, researching, and shopping for parts. Even more fun than shoe shopping! ;) The only aftermarket thing on the bike in these pics is the Le Pera custom seat which I've now had on my last three touring bikes. I love this seat and am glad that I've been able to transfer it from bike to bike.

Here are the "before" photos from this morning. When I get my bike back I'll take "after" photos and will be curious to see if anyone can identify all the mods. :)

Mr. Sandi and I took a quick look around the dealership when we dropped off my bike in service. Wow, the showroom floor at our local H-D dealership has never been this empty. Harley-Davidson shut down their factories when COVID really started hammering the U.S. and so dealerships haven't gotten any bikes. Mr. Sandi said that it looked like the motorcycles were social distancing. :joy: Actually, the bikes were doing a better job of it than the staff and customers in the service department. :(

very nice bike Sandi, I don’t know a lot about Harleys but they look heavy and you don’t look heavy so how do you go on with all that bulk?

I've learned to manage it quite fine, thanks for asking, Shaun! :kissing: I do get that question rather frequently. The newer H-D touring bikes are very nicely balanced and that's primarily how I do manage it--balance. I am also very mindful of how and where I park and, as my husband ingrained in me from Day 1 when I began riding, I do things very purposefully. For example, when I'm going to put my feet down, I darn well put my feet down. No being wishy washy on decisions.

I have to say that one of the positive consequences for me of riding big Harleys it that it has served to keep me quite respectful of riding and motorcycles and has discouraged me from taking a more cavalier attitude or being less engaged when I'm on my bikes. Plus, it makes my Speed Triple feel all the lighter. I've heard some refer to the Speedy a heavy but it's all relative and it feels like a flyweight to me! :grinning:

This morning I washed and detailed my non-Triumph (and non-motorcycle) Ford Mustang. :) And I pulled it back into the garage just in the nick of time before a little spit of rain passed through. ;)

Took the interceptor in for its first service today... Won’t be done until Friday with pick on Tuesday after GMU. While I was in the dealers this lot were on display. The cherry red looks stunning

If you call £16k cheap, then yes. To my mind a lot of money for what they are.

I picked up my Street Glide Special at our local H-D dealership yesterday with about 99% of my customization completed. A couple of parts remain on backorder, the primary one being saddlebag guards which protect the bags (duh) and also provide a place to strap down my travel bag when on trips. I'll probably go with a KlockvWerks Flare windshield and Custom Dynamics LED turn signals with smoked lens covers when my bank account recovers a bit.

As promised, here are the "after" photos taken in the breezeway at the dealership. What changes can you find compared to my "before" photos? The "before" photos are in the quote above or you can look back at post #555 in this thread.
