Have said this a few times on this forum when someone asks about back packs :(
I have never worn one for over twenty years after seeing the damage done to a work colleague when he binned his bike  the bruising had to be seen to be believed :worried:
Caused by his lunch box and a flask:confused:
Tie it to the bike :)
    Get a top box :)
    Tow a trailer :)
Don’t wear a back pack

Got to agree, bruising is the least of the possible injuries that could be caused.
Severe spinal injury anywhere from cerebral spine to lumbar spine is very and highly possible

you may be sorted already but I got an Oxford Aqua 25L backpack from Sportsbike Shop. I use it all the time for my commute and its totally waterproof. It’s roll top design means that there is only one main compartment within it but this is what keeps it waterproof. good straps and chest strap with lots of adjustment so it fits well and feels nice and secure.
