I’m not surprised you’ve just seen it because I started it years ago! I was going to do a post with every step, but as with many projects there were very large gaps between activity and it would have been the worlds longest and probably most boring thread.

I still have a few things to sort out, I have fitted some “silencers” because it was just too loud as it was (I loved it!) and it needs riding and no doubt a few teething issues ironing out, but I have ridden it 3 times a total of 5 miles-I keep stopping to check that the oil is returning and looking for leaks-the carbs need setting up too, although they are not far off. I’m a bit paranoid at the moment but I absolutely love it, it’s just got a character that more modern bikes just don’t seem to have, however good they may be.

Sorry, I forgot to add my thanks for the kind comments about my bike, nice to know that you guys appreciate it for what it is, it’s not standard and I know lots won’t like it, but I did it how I like it and I intend to ride it. A lot!

hey, are those TR6 pipes standard 650 ones, or are they shortened up in any way for the T140 motor?

    just curious

    nice looking machine, too.

Thank you! They are the standard 650 ones, I was told that they sit a little lower due to the shorter barrel but only by about half an inch.

yes. the rods are 0.5 inches shorter, so the T140 jugs have one less fin. people sometimes run into isses because of that, but with the racing-style pipes i wouldnt have seen a difference. the problems occure when people try to run 750 low pipes on a 650 frame , and then they conflict with the tubes.

im putting together a nominal 1966 TR6 with the high lefty/righty pipes. maybe th epicture will show:

not mine, but mine will look a lot like that. 1970 bonneville motor, though.
